Frenulum removal...?

Frenulum removal...?

Hi

I’ve been thinkin about this for some time.
I’m an uncut 21 year old and up until February I had no problems with my frenulum. I basically had a stint where I was recieving no heating in my house and was cleaning myself in a cold shower. You all know what being cold does to the skin.
I developed a little tear on my frenulum. It has never been what I’d consider “tight” so I wouldn’t get it removed because of tightness. The reason I want it removed is because - although I have learned to live with it and work around it - it makes the initial parts of sex very hard, when everything’s not so greased up, with the occaisional bleeding from skin tear being a major setback, and thats when taking caution in my actions..

Coupled with the fact that I do PE it makes it almost impossible to get rid of it. Its not unbearable, just irritating, and it makes my penis very sensitive so resisting ejaculation during sex is a little harder.

Taking a long break is not really an option as it would require me to stop for at least a month, with the possibility of it coming back if I went to rough on it, as it has done before.

I’m not sure I want to go the full extent of getting circumsized, but I’d like to explore the alternatives. Does anyone have any knowledge of this procedure and what can be done, the recovery period, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sacred,

Read ahund’s thread on his frenulum surgery two years ago. Useful information.

A. The frenulum, in most men, is the most sensitive part of the penis. Removing it might decrease pleasure.

B. The operation is called frenuloplasty if you want it done.

C. A full circumcision isn’t necessary for your problem, but is an option. Albeit a fairly radical one.

I had it done in 1999. I had surgery for varicocele (sp?) and my doctor cut the frenulum for free…:) I never really had problems before but after healing seems to be more comfortable without it. Never lost sensibility and I can’t even see a scar down there. Just make sure you’re in good hands and do it.

Hey man! Sorry to hear that more guys on the forum has the same kind of issue that I had.
I got a little tear in mine that wouldn’t heal, and I waited over a year. That was my worst year ever, because I grew alot of frustration and bad self esteem over not being able to please my girlfriend.

Making the operation was the best decision I have made in my life. It didn’t leave a scar and I didn’t lose any sensitivity. And hell, even if half my cock went numb I would still choose that over sex being a struggle the rest of my life.

They put a couple of anaesthetic shots in my cock base, started cutting, welding (!), and finally sewed it together. The whole procedure took about 10-15 minutes. Other than the shots stingy tiny pain, I didn’t feel a thing. However I must say, that the sound of welding and the feeling of a string going through the penis was a little uncomfortable :D

Oh, and I have no issues what so ever now. :D I can even have anal sex again! It took a little over a month to heal, But after that I was pain free. :D Actually no, I suffered from habital pain associations a couple of more months after the complete healing. Its funny how the actual wound heal much faster than the brains ability to modify the neurological connection Sex - Pain. I didn’t “feel” any pain, but I knew I would.

To sum it up; For god sake do it!! Put yourself in surgery queue now, and hope that it’s not seven months like in my case.

Best of luck!

Would a frenuloplasty make the penis bigger ?

:-k :

Would severing the frenulum prevent turtling? Perhaps it is this little restraint that pulls the dick back into the body more so than the suspensory ligament. I’m sure snipping this little external strip of flesh would be less traumatic than cutting ligs.

I’m curious that this hasn’t come up before. Maybe it did in ahund’s thread. Guess I’d better read it.

Realise this is pretty out of date, but just to add info to new people looking for info:

Doesn’t seem to make any difference as far as turtling is concerned, to me anyway.

And re surgery:
I would get a sore frenulum every time I had sex, from tears that never properly healed. I had it cut with surgery, it was just an incision with 2 stitches so it didn’t decrease sensitivity at all, just stopped pain from sex :)

The thing was, once it healed, I could see they hadn’t cut into it -enough-, and there was still part of the ‘sail’ there to rub and be torn. It was kind of something that needed to be done in two stages though, since you couldn’t really tell while it was healing with 2 lumpy stitches.. However, I didn’t want to go back for another operation just for a second, smaller cut, so, in my stupid youth, I had a couple of glasses of wine, iced the area, then chopped it with tapestry scissors :)

Sounds crazy but it actually fixed that last little bit, once it healed up it was completely flat there and sex was no longer a problem. Guess I was pretty lucky!! So that cheap laugh aside, yes, if it’s causing you problems, I also agree that surgery is ace - very simple and straightforward, plus it was free in my country.

Self-surgery. Hope you at least washed your hands first.

Don’t forget to send yourself a bill.

The best solution to this is circumcision.

Right, he should remove one of the most sensitive parts of the penis and further reduce sensitivity by losing some feeling in glans just because one small piece of skin (less than 0.5” long) is causing minor problems. Yay for logic!

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago. My frenulum would get really sore and painful during and after sex or masturbation. I went to see my Doctor about it and he referred me to a Urologist who diagnosed it as a frenulum breave (a very short/tight frenulum). The Urologist recommended that I have a circumcision which would remove the frenulum as well as the foreskin. The Doctor assured me that circumcision was the most effective and expedient way of solving my problem and after doing a little research online I agreed and went ahead and had the circumcision done. It all went well and I am happy with the result and have had no further problems (Although there is a small remnant of my frenulum left on the tip of my penis that I want to get removed) and I have had no loss of sensitivity at all as a result of the op.

That’s just strains belief that a doctor would recommend amputation of the foreskin when the frenulum could have been simply bisected, amputating nothing.

And why would you want to get even more tissue amputated? What part of the original symptoms persist?

I also got cut almost three years ago with all the frenulum removed. It was the best decision in my life and the only regret that I have is I did not have it done earlier.
