Getting Circumcised

This thread is for anyone who is considering getting circumcised. I’m not trying to persuade people into getting it done or not getting it done, I just want to share why I am having it done. I’ll post here again to tell how I feel after the procedure is done.

So I’m getting circumcised this week, (I’m 18 by the way), and these are the reasons why.

In my opinion, a circumcised dick looks better than an uncircumcised one.

Since I’ve already retracted my foreskin as far back as it can go, I’ve lost some sensitivity now that I’m used to having the head exposed. I’ve noticed that now I’m able to last longer with a girl because of this. I don’t mind losing that sensitivity if I can go longer because to me it feels just as pleasureable. After I’m circumcised it will probably be more less sensitive but I’m okay with that.

After circumcision the glans increases in girth, since it is no longer constricted by the prepuce, and the margins of the base of the glans become more prominent. This was taken from the website at the bottom of the thread. It was from a poll which showed 43% who experienced this.

Circumcision reduces the risk of Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

And lastly, I want to remove the frenulum as well because I think it’s possible that this is the reason for the downward curve in my penis. My frenulum is pretty short and tight and when my penis is erect it points the head downward and where the head goes the body follows right? This is just a theory I have and I would be very interested to hear what people have to say about this.

The only things I’m worried about are if the surgeon will do a good job and the risks of going under anesthesia.

You have made the write decision, yes a circumcised dick looks better than an uncircumcised one and also a circumcised dick is always clean never smell bad.

Dude, don’t get your frenulum removed, I am circumsized(sinse birth) but still have it, and I’m glad! It’s the most sensitive part of your penis and you’ll really miss it when it’s gone. You may want to last longer and think this will help, but don’t forget that you still need something for yourself. I doubt it is the frenulum causing your downward curve anyways, because it would simply stretch out, it’s probably just the way your tunica has been shaped and developed over your life, and the only possible way to fix that is long term jelqing and stretching.

I agree with Redwood, don’t remove the frenulum, besides if your frenulum has made your penis head point downwards, then I imagine that makes your penis the same shape as those G-spot vibrators so makes your penis shape perfect for hitting the G-spot in doggy style!

I agree with Rifor and Redwood. If the frenulum is a bit tight, as the surgeon to sort this out, but I really, really caution against your losing it. If you want to go longer and are willing to lose sensitivity from the glans by circumcision, then that’s your choice. However, the frenulum has bundles of wonderful pleasure-giving nerves and by losing it you have no chance of ever getting it back and it will be a pointless and irrecoverable loss. Please ask the surgeon to loosen it, but not to remove it. I think anyway that the very act of circumcision will release your frenulum for you as some of it is attached to the foreskin that you’re going to have removed.

I’m just wondering what your reasons are for going through with the surgery? I sure hope you consider everything before doing it because this isn’t like getting a haircut, well maybe it’s more like a haircut for the penis.

Looks should be secondary to function. Your penis has a foreskin for a reason. Removing it changes things significantly.

Much less sensitive. The skin of the glans will keratinize (become dry and thick). Have you worn it pulled back because that’s what other guys looked like in the locker room? Or was there a good reason you wanted the glans to rub on your underwear all day?

Just as there are anti-circumcision web sites, there are pro-circumcision web sites. Circlist.com is one of them, so you aren’t going to read any negative information about circumcision there. The glans isn’t going to expand much in the flaccid state after circumcision. And it won’t get any bigger than it does now when you’re erect.

This is not necessarily true. There have been a couple studies regarding HIV infection and circumcision, but "regular" STDs (such as syphilis and gonorrhea) can be transmitted whether you’re circ’d or not. And the HIV study has been questioned.

Not true. While a tight frenulum might pull the head down when erect, it has nothing to do with a general curve of the penis. There are dozens of threads here about curves (you can search). Curves seem to be due to a weakness or deformity of the strong tissue that covers the erectile chambers (called the tunica albuginea). Getting circ’d will not correct your curve and, in fact, might worsen it if the surgeon removes a lot of skin. A tight circumcision can cause it’s own deformities.

You should be worried about the long term results of this surgery more than this. You can ask the surgeon if he will have some of his previous adult circumcision patients call you to discuss their results. He may have photos to show off his work. Anesthesia gets safer every year. If it’s administered by a competent provider, anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist, and you follow the rules (no eating after midnight, etc.) then you shouldn’t have any problems.

The decision is yours, of course. Rather than saying you are right or wrong, I’m sure most of the guys here would encourage you to make an informed decision and not one based solely on the stuff provided on one site.

I agree with westla. I’m a couple months into restoring my foreskin. I was lucky enough to keep my frenulum, but my loss of sensitivity of being cut for 32 years has really made sex not so good for me. I was able to last a long time because I only felt the vagina for the first 5 minutes of intercourse, then would just go kind of numb. I’d stay hard, but not be able to end. I even stopped all forms of sexual pleasure to increase sensitivity, but that didn’t help. Now a couple months of restoration has already made a huge difference. My wife even orgasms faster because there is less friction with more skin. Do a lot of research before surgery so you don’t have any regrets about your decision. Good Luck.

I hope you don’t take this wrong way but you are only 18. I really think you need to wait on this decision and become more informed. If in 3 to 5 years you still feel the same way then go for it. I know at 18 I made some decisions in my life that I regret. Your penis should not be one of them.

Listen to Westla he knows what he’s talking about. I myself am kind of weird in that I’m circumcised but there is still some skin there so I guess its not fully cut. Up until a few months ago I also thought that circumcised was better, but as I looked back on it most of my feelings about it were from other people. I don’t really understand why, but many people “like” circumcised dicks better. In reality, as far as function is concerned it’s not what was naturally intended and will not work as well. I think girls and men who say that uncircumcised penises are “gross” are pretty childish. I mean whats the difference between having foreskin and having a hood over the clitoris or any other natural thing, there’s nothing gross about that. It’s pretty amazing how there is such a huge following of people who are willing to do this to themselves and to their children. I’m not saying you shouldn’t do it, but I’m saying you shouldn’t let other people decide for you. And as far as I’m concerned, there really isn’t any reason to get circumcised “for yourself.”

I trust in this page a lot, so therefor I’m not going to be circumcised.

I wouldn’t choose to be circumcised if I had a choice. I think you’re making a big mistake, but don’t let that dissuade you.

I do remember on a discovery channel or TLC show that was talking about how an uncircumcized penis is designed by evolution to also suction, as to remove another mans semen before he puts his own in. I suppose this could be a double edge sword for STDs if it’s sucking up alot of juices.

I have found though from doing PE that I’ve gotten some of the skin back, and now when flaccid I sort of have a “turtle neck” around below the glands, but not enough to go over any part of the glands. I sort of like this, but I don’t think I’d try to restore my foreskin as I have no idea what it’d end up looking like after. Can you really “restore” the foreskin, or is it just stretching loose skin over the glands?

I am not circumsized, and I can last forever. I would never ever let anyone near my penis with a knife, that’s ludacris.. Circumsition is like cutting of the eyelids, “ye-haa!”

I would never get my foreskin cut off. My girlfriend really enjoys it inside of her because it covers my head, then lets the head come out and hit her deep in her vagina. It acts as a natural guide to let your penis slide through. Only uncircumcised men can understand what I am talking about I think. But, whatever you do, consider the consequences of losing something that for one, you can’t get back, and two, something you and your partner may miss.

Quality sex is more important than having a member that is circumcised.
