OK, I said I wasnt going to post, but you are making me laugh. Ya sorry, if you want to get technical, I guess your hair could catch on fire and burn off. So there really is more than “2” ways. Stress I would think someone is more concerned to get cotisol levels down using 7-oxo (a metabolite a DHEA). Ive yet to meet anyone who has lost their hair from stress. If stress causes hair loss, id like to know the mechanisms. Which leaves us with genetics, right back to where we started - DHT. And if you can show me where Rogaine removes DHT from the scalp, Ill change my tune.

Yes, I’m suggesting exactly that! We’ve been lead to believe that DHT is the bad boy that causes BPH. I believe that DHT in the presence of Estrogen is what causes BPH in those susceptible. Knock out either one and you can improve the situation. Consider this:

You’re a man so you want lots DHT.
You’re a man so you don’t want lots of Estrogen.
Younger men tend to have lots of DHT and not so much Estrogen.
Older men tend to have less DHT and more Estrogen.
Younger men tend not to have BPH.
Older men tend to have BPH.

If that generates enough curiosity to make you wonder, then try reading the ‘pro-dht inhibition’ articles again, but play devils advocate and assume that they’re wrong, and see if they can convince you back to your original belief.

I said I wasnt going to post again in this thread, but I feel a couple of things need to be addressed. So its a belief and no scientific papers to back it up? After studying this type of stuff for 17 years, this is the first time ive ever heard this.

I already addressed this issue.

Scientific results are often wrong, we both know that. If you wanted to find that information then you could. My having a belief (based on my own research) is no incumbency on me to do your homework. I merely said that information was out there.

How much bad stuff can .05mg of finasteride daily do? Just curious since that’s supposed to be effective for the hair benefits.

My regimen has been .8mg finasteride plus minoxidil once per day since about 18 months ago with very good results. The last few months I’ve added 10mg of fin to the 60ml of minoxidil, and am now thinking of also taking a much lower dose of the oral finasteride. To dose fin that low I’d have to dissolve it in some kind of liquor which many men have done successfully.

5mg of finasteride dissolved in 60ml of liquor would dose at .08mg/ml which is what I’ll be starting this weekend. I think all I have is rum though :p

You bring up an excellent point. Tha answer - not much. You can get DHT by 2 conversions. Finasteride only blocks that 5ar conversion. I believe (dont quote me on the numbers), that it leads to a 30% reduction of DHT at the scalp. My guess is that is a uniform number throughout the body, but thats just for the 5ar portion of it. Some people are fortunate enough (like you) can take a little fina and some minox, and thats all they need for their androgenic alopecia. For me unfortunately, I have to use quite a plethora of hair products to keep my hair. Damn genetics

I had about 10mg of finasteride that was already cut into .8 mg size, so I put it all in about 60ml of rum. It all dissolved in a few seconds of shaking. I’ll be taking about .16mg per day now, plus the once daily 1ml application of my minox, fin, and DMSO mixture.

I forgot to mention the DMSO in the last post. I put 3-4 ml of DMSO in my minox too.

Fieldmouse: Yes, you´ve said you weren´t going to post……..a couple of times actually. Unfortunately you don´t make me laugh, so I guess that I´m the funny guy here.

What I wrote is based upon many years of serious research by pro´s and that, my friend, you are not. I am quite sure that you have met people (male/female) who have suffered or are suffering from hairloss due to stress. Or maybe you have some way of telling people´s stresslevel and cause for hairloss just by looking at them? Stress and later on depression can cause you to commit suicide or develop next to real symtoms of just about any sickness and they are still just psychosomatic just to mention a few amongst a plethora of other things. Do you want to know the mechanisms behind that too? Probably not, so you´re probably just trying to say that you don´t believe me on that matter of fact. Fine. That´s how a know-it-all person handles the slighest possibility of not being the sole source of information. So you´re fully covered there. Regarding the cortisol level, which you misspelled by the way, it would probably be easier to boost the level of reusing serotonin by using s-citalopram.

Regarding your tune; I´ve yet to meet a person who´s outta tune and at the same time is aware of it……..

Enough said, I never doubted your statements and/or experiences so why should you doubt mine or anyone else´s? We all have our own stories to tell and there´s certainly no omni-cure out there as of yet. Let´s exchange information and hope that we all get to have more hair asap.

Talking about hair, my wife had some of her hair in her mouth when she fainted the other night from hyperventilating like crazy during her orgasm. I guess I´ll chalk that up on having grown 0.75” both ways since october. That beats getting more hair ;)

BTW, I won´t be reading or posting anymore in this thread so save the effort for your next PE-session or something……….I am a person who does what he says so I guess it´s: Bye-bye hair thread!!

Cry more please. Probably the most pointless and angry post ive read here. A real man would sit here and debate it and present scientific papers, not just “cause I said so, and my wife had an orgasm…..finally”. Quite frankly I dont care if you read this, as long as everybody else in the thread knew you ran. Run forest run. Owned.

I forgot to mention, people tend to act childish when they get called to the carpet. With absolutely no scientific proof, just hear say. Im used to it. You can make up all the facts you want, ill present the truth, and you can argue with it. Stress causes cortisol to rise, not DHT. Cortisol is usually associated with fat gain. A semester in physiology would do some good.

I thought it was my thread and not a battelfield about hairloss product opinions :)

Anyway my skin is getting very very dry from rogaine. I don’t know if I can still use it if it’s getting worse.
