How erection works on the brain: Motivation, Life Style, Dopamine and Porn.

Hi Terry Crews!

The best thing in the forum is getting so much support. I really love Thundersplace.

My ED is much better. I still take pills cause I lose my erection in the middle of the sex. I use to have long sessions, rarely a quick one. Pills are working very well compered to last year, when I couldn’t even get an erection. I’m gonna start a treatment with anti depressives. It will be 3 months with no sex, no masturbation, nothing… But I need anti depressives to kill my libido, otherwise I won’t accomplished that. Long periods of rest is the key for my recovery and the key to leave addiction. I have a thread “Curing my ED with no fap” which I discuss the treatment and the addiction.

In your case it seems that your under too much stress. Stress raises cortisol (stress hormone) and cortisol is really bad for EQ.

A diet with low carbs can make you feel more stressed. So think about complex carbs instead. Simple brazilian foods that you can try is Batata Doce, Mandioquinha, Aveia, Lentilha… Avoid sugar at any cost, flour and all simple carbs (Arroz, pão francês, macarrão). Cut alcohol for a while and eat as much protein as you can… If you eat before sleep, try things like fish and salad. Avoid milk, bread, butter…

I lost 20kgs in less than a year, so I have some background if you want some tips, but the best you can do is an appointment with a nutritionist. In the other hand, exercises are better for testosterone, EQ and stress relief than a good diet.

Also you can try meditation and cold showers. Meditartion is very good to find peace, concentration and mind control. Cold showers has some power over stress. Taking daily cold showers releases some cortisol in your brain, but it is a controlled situation and it ends satisfactory, releasing some dopamine as well. Daily cold showers can be helpful to train your brain to deal better with stress.

Remember, improvement is an endless process. It will come to a day that your erections are better than ever, but you will not remember when it started to be that good.

Hi rush9mota!

First of all: are you Brazilian too?

I’ll follow your advice: eating complex carbohydrates instead of low carb.

I have good news: today I took a Cialis and had a rock hard erection and a great night of sex with my wife.

I know that the medicine increased my erection capacity, but it was very good to know that my penis is working well. I really think that is a relevant thing, since I’m blowing my mind away, thinking my sex life was ruined.

I’ll spend some time resting and taking care for my health.

In the next week, I’ll go to an appointment with my urologist. I’ll let you know what he says about my condition.

See ya.

Yes Crews, I`m from Brazil.

Those pills are miraculous! Although, keep working in your body to get rid of them, or just use for some different experience times to times, but not often. It can increase the blood flow so much that women feel the extra girth and hardness. It`s cool, but not healthy.

Glad to see you relaxed. It definitely will help! Be sure that you will be fully recovered soon. Maybe some relaxing activities are enough. Next weekend I`m going to Ilha Bela with my girlfriend. Sun, beach, drinks, sex, drinks, sex, drinks, drinks, sex, sleep, sun… All the good stuff in life.

I just want to thank you for the thread. It definitely delivers valuable insight - at least for me.

Hi Richard,

I’ve been studying addiction for a couple of years. I was trying to stop masturbation and porn; always failing.

I started with this book: “The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business”.

It’s not about addiction, but gave me a outstanding insight of why I keep choosing some actions over others. It was a life changer reading. This book also teaches a lot about brain mechanisms. It was when I accept my addiction.

I didn’t know what to do, so I found a therapist specialized in addiction. She is helping me a lot and showed me the book “Your brain on porn: The new science of addiction”… Extremely recommended book for every man. Even if you are not addicted, it’s important to know how sexual arousal works. It’s the kind of improvement that can make us more connected with ourselves.

But knowing a lot of things didn’t solve my addiction. It’s when I found a Brazilian program for porn addiction. It’s a bunch of lessons and best practices that really helps. The most important lesson I took was how to use technology to block adult content in the web.

Even when I’m looking for porn, I have several apps blocking my access. It’s so difficult to get there that I give up.

Porn is pretty much solved, but masturbation is not, so I take anti depressive pills to kill my libido. I’m finding my way through recovery, it’s not easy, but it’s possible. I can feel it every step forward.

As soon as I recover, I’ll be able to start my PE.

Mota,

I took citalopram, about 2007 and recently escitalopram (Lexapro). In both occasions, the antidepressants caused me an extremely difficult to cum. Nothing related to EQ, but my penis was not sensitive. Sometimes my wife couldn’t stand and quite. Other times, when a was with a condom, I have faked orgasms.

So I said to the psychiatrist that Lexapro was retarding my ejaculation, and that sometimes I even can’t cum.

So he prescribed Bupropriona associated with Lexapro to make me a little bit more on! So, since this moment, I decided to quit forever antidepressants.

Today, I prefer to stare my problems than to escape.

So here I am.

Much love, brotha.

Hi Crews,

There is a nice lesson here.

Every man that is daily masturbating with porn will pass through some stages before ED.

There are things like social anxiety, lack of focus, slight but permanent depression… It keeps increasing over time and happens to all addiction, alcohol, cocaine… But those symptoms are hard to understand and they come so smoothly that it’s impossible to diagnose.

But addiction in PMO (porn, masturbation and orgasm) leads to a physical change. Delayed ejaculation. Before ED, years before, ejaculation became something very hard. I had to really concentrate to cum. Sometimes I just couldn’t cum, even masturbating hard with the girl licking my balls… Simply couldn’t get there. It happens because ejaculation happens at the top of sexual arousal. When we masturbate too much, bit by bit the brain becomes less responsive to arousal (dopamine), till the moment that the amount of dopamine generated during sex act isn’t enough to make us cum.

Back there I didn’t know what was happening, I was just happy that I was a stamina king. Man, I was able to fuck hard for all night long without worries. No condom needed, I had full control of ejaculation, if I was able to get there.

Than comes the second stage, the ED. From this point my sexual life became a frightening nightmare. Every time I was acting as I’m the king of confidence while I was broken inside, depending on pills, praying for the pills to work. In this point, brain became so resistant to dopamine that normal arousal isn’t enough to get me hard.

Than the third stage. ED was so severe that I was forcing my arousal to masturbate, even with a flaccid cock… From retard ejaculation, I got myself a premature ejaculation. Forcing the brain to get enough arousal to get hard is the same thing as teach the brain to cum fast. Arousal MUST be natural, not forced. Now, suffering with ED and premature ejaculation, incapable of loving my self. All together with social anxiety, depression, lack of focus in life… For a while the only way out of this nightmare was suicide,

Well. I’m partially recovered. I still suffer from ED and premature ejaculation. I developed I high control of my ejaculation, but now I have to concentrate and stop sex from times to times to avoid cumming before I want. I can’t do the things I was used to, but the sex is better, a lot better. I had to develop many other skills and I did. I dream to back to this delayed ejaculation stage with all these new skills, but it’s impossible. The only thing I can do is target a normal ejaculation time and natural good EQ.

The thing is, anti depressive medicine puts you on that stage that you cannot cum. But I already passed that. Doesn’t matter what anti depressive, when it enters in my system, my libido is killed. No arousal at all, incapable of having sex, masturbate… The urge doesn’t come.

It’s bad, but it’s good. My brain needs time to rest and recover from more than 20 years of abuse. It’s normal to take a while to get better.

Hi there folks!

I’m sorry for the delay in replying, I was waiting to see if things were really stabilized.

After I took Cialis that night, according to my penultimate comment on this thread, I woke up with a morning wood on the next day, as I haven’t had for a while. I thought it was the effect of Cialis, which can last up to 36 hours.

On the third day in the morning, the same thing happened. During the days, hard and long-lasting erections.

Yesterday, without taking any pills, I had an incredible sex with my wife. My cock was really hard and my erection is maintained throughout the act.

I really don’t know what was the cause of my problem, whether PE over-training, if psychological, diet or all of it together. But one thing is certain: I am very happy to know that everything is fine with me.

How was your trip to Ilha Bela, Mota? Hope you have enjoyed a lot!

Hi Crews,

Actually I’m going to Ilha Bela next Friday.

Nice to see you are feeling better! Sometimes we are just over stressed. It’s completely normal that our body reacts badly.

After some ED, being able to fuck is a boost in confidence that is a boost in happiness that is a boost in libido that is a boost in EQ!!

I’m struggling with addiction, but I’m feeling much better, even masturbating sometimes. Hope I have a clean week. It’s hard to get an erection but when it happens, it’s 11/10 EQ, amazing. I’m sure that viagra or cialis will work fine in the trip.

My girlfriend has a long list of things to pack… My baggage will have, wine and viagra… rsrsrs

Cheers

Sure it will be and epic trip!

Enjoy it!

There are preciously few porn scenes/movies that turn me on. As a rule I have much better reels residing in my memory, and when I masturbate (which even in my 50s I do daily, unless my GF is visiting :-D) I much prefer to reminisce a former lover than watch porn.

You are doing great mr. 99!

Watching porn kills imagination. Mostly because the brain will understand every single actress as a different woman. Half an hour of porn is more than enough time for an addicted guy to watch to 15 to 60 (or even more) flashes of movies, making the brain reacts as we fucked all those women in that short period. What do you think happens to libido after years of abuse, watching porn for hours a day? How the brain would react to the sexy appeal of a normal woman that is not as hot as porn stars and is not in the mood to do all those dirty things we use to see in porn?

No problem at all in masturbating. The problem is in the compulsive behavior.

After ED, the only way to heal is stop almost everything.

Think about a very fat guy and a skinny one. For the fat guy, the effort to reduce weight is enormous. For the skinny one, it’s almost none, paying attention to the food every now and than.

It’s just like alcohol. You can use it, but with moderation.

Indeed very good post and great points.

The vast majority if porn actually totally turns me OFF. Just two people meeting each other and gagging on their genitalia, banging away and demeaning stuff. Ew.

I love buildup, to kiss my GF for a long while and enjoy those amazing lips. To feel her satin tan skin and run my hands over her sexy body. That gets me so ready and primed and rock hard. Of course there are the fun moments when my GF is in the kitchen and I just walk up to her and pull the towel she’s wearing after the shower off her and just take her, and she plays the role of being reluctant at first (but she loves it) and calls me an animal. :-)

Porn misses the point too often for me, always has.

Unfortunately I was born in a generation that internet was too new to know it’s risks. I had access to porn when I was a kid, much before I had sex. At least I suffered from body dysmorphic disease, but in a good way. I looked at porn guys and thought that I was just like them…At the beginning of my sex life, size was not a problem at all… (thanks god)

These days I saw a post from a guy that never had sex. His fist time is coming (this weekend I think) but he is afraid of being small. He is average, but porn patterns distorted the ideas of good sex and what is normal.

That is what porn does to people. If you are normal you feel inappropriate. If you are small, you feel there is no place in the world for you… Porn is changing peoples habits in a dangerous way.

I don’t think that porn must be stopped, but it must be payed and more controlled. It’s a crime that kids have free access to all that content. It’s a crime that 80% of the guys that fits in the normal range of size feels inadequate.

Most of guys from my generation, much more from the newer generations learns about sex with porn.
