I think I have an STD...

Is it herpes? a genital wart?

I am away at school and will return home in 2 weeks and my girlfriend is expecting lots of sex.

She doesn’t know that i cheated on her while here at school, drunk one night with a classmate, and without a condom. Poor decision, and now it looks like I am paying the price…

I went to the doctor about 2 months ago and he said the first bump was just a ingrown hair, and took out the magnifying glass to show me the hair, and said I could get a blood test for $200-$300 but since I am a poor student I believed him that it was just an ingrown hair. That bump went away, but this one showed up about 3 or 4 weeks ago around the same area and has just remained the same size. One night i was aggravating it by moving it around and poking it and a white pus came out, so i am about 98% sure its an STD. Should I go and get that blood test tomorrow? Really stressing me out with finals coming up, and how do I go about telling the girlfriend when all she keeps saying is how excited she is to have sex when i get back. :( Poor decisions… FML

Advice/diagnosis appreciated, thanks. I am thinking after class tomorrow morning I’ll take the bus to the doctor’s office and get that blood test.

Also: I am in a Caribbean Island going to medical school… so no free clinic here. I could try to go to the free clinic in my hometown when I return home for break, but I know that she will want sex right away since we haven’t seen each other in so long, and I’ll have to make up a lie to go to the clinic, and then I would have to wait 7 days or so to find out the results (I know there is a clinic where I can pay $200 to find out in 2-3 days) and I don’t know how long I can keep up the lie for… really stressing me out :/

Your doctor is right, you have nothing to worry about.

…that being said, you should still get tested as you’ve had unprotected sex before you go and infect something into your girl that didn’t show.

Looks like an ingrown hair. You said white pus came out when you pushed on it. That’s consistent with an ingrown hair/pimple.

Get tested anyway, as base said, since you owe it to your girlfriend. Or at least tell her you cheated, and let her decide whether she’s willing to risk sex with you, not knowing if you picked something up.

There’s something in there probably a bit of hair which is going mouldy. Try an antiseptic on it when you have squeezed the pus out. and if you have a magnifying glass have a look to see if there is a foreign body there.

You might have to take a needle to it (Sterilize it first) if there is something there which looks foreign

As petit said, you may have to “dig” a little with tweezers or a needle to get the hair released. Be sure to use isopropyl alcohol on the area and any utensils you use.

Yup! Got my results yesterday, I am STD free! woohoo :] Feels good.

The doc took a look at the bump and said the same thing, ingrown hair. He said to just leave it be and it will go away over time. He said it is just scar tissue and the body will slowly reabsorb it and it will go back to normal in 3-5 months. Sux that it takes a while, gonna have to explain to my gf if she asks what it is, hope she doesn’t get freaked out.
