Pain Medication and Sexual Stamina

I recently had knee surgery and was prescribed Vicodin for pain relief. I have also recently taken some Norco (which is very similar to Vicodin) for the pain. I noticed that after a few days of taking the pain medicine, I was lasting a LOT longer during sex with my wife. Some nights I went for 3 hours before having to make myself come (I know it sounds hard to believe but I’m being totally honest here guys). I’ve always been kind of a “quick gun” when it comes to sex but have worked for years to extend the amount of time it takes me to cum. I just figured that all the work was finally paying off.

I weaned myself off the pain meds as my knee pain subsided and noticed that I wasn’t lasting as long as while I was on them (in some instances not long at all). I re-injured my knee shortly after stopping the medication and began taking it again. Once again my stamina increased. In fact, after have margaritas with my wife, then making love, I wasn’t even able to cum. This happened three times. After several hours of making love, in virtually all the positions I could possibly come up with, my wife asked me to please cum or stop because she couldn’t handle it anymore. It made me feel great that I could satisfy her to that extent but she felt bad because I didn’t get there myself. I told her I was pretty sure it was due to the medication and that I was very satisfied with her.

Please understand I’m not suggesting anyone here try this but I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I love being able to go at it for long periods of time (especially seeing how it pleases my wife) but I found it really strange that I wasn’t able to “pull the trigger” several times. It’s not like I lose sensation, I just don’t seem to get close to the edge unless I pump hard and fast for about 30 minutes without stopping. When I was a younger man this probably wouldn’t have been much of an issue but I’m 54 and it’s not quite so easy anymore. Seriously guys, I’m not trying to brag here, just stating the facts. It kind of makes me wonder if this is what happens when you take Extenze, or one of those other male enhancement pills.

Some pain meds do that to me. If mixed with alcohol some make it very hard to get erect, but with or without liquor, they put the breaks on ejaculation for sure.

If you can get your hands on Vicodin it will make you last forever. Knew a dealer that would take two and bonk a girl for 3 hours almost every weekend during summer.

With all the Viagra, Cialis, Extenze and other male enhancements on the market now, I was beginning to wonder if my age was what was causing the issue. Sex last night was very frustrating and not only did I have a very difficult time reaching climax, I also had a hard time keeping my erection. I think I’ll get off these things and switch to ibuprofen. I’m a proud sex-a-holic and this is really getting in the way. Knee pain is frustrating but I think I can put up with a bit to make sure my love life doesn’t suffer. It’s really starting to have an impact on my wife’s psyche. I keep telling her that I think it’s the medicine but I know it still bothers her.

Opiates are known for that. Get to warm and fuzzy though and you can hump for ever but loose the ability to pop.

I ordered some Extenze, based on earlier reports on its effectiveness. This thread is the most recent mention of it.

Seems to be a mystery as to what is in it, but I found a listing of ingredients at Livestrong.com, and it says among several other things that it contains 600mg of Yohimbe.

That would explain why most people report some sort of effect from taking Extenze. When I take 400mg of Yohimbe, I feel its strong side effects.

Why has there been no mention of Extenze since the initial reports? Have they all died of heart attacks?

Just wanted to know how long before sex one has to take the painkiller to get the desired effect of lengthening the ejaculation time?
Does it makes difficult to stay errect if taken without alcohal?
Does tramadol do the same?
PLEASE help as I need to elongate time of ejaculation desperately as it is now at the verge of effecting relationship.

It’s funny that you mentioned role reversal. I was thinking the same thing when that happened to me. I now understand what it means to really enjoy sex and not cum. I can also understand the frustration too.

I noticed after an hour of taking it on a full stomach I got the effects. When I was younger (20’s-early 30’s) I could drink and take Vicodin and screw all night. Now that I’m older (early 40’s) either one makes it difficult to get or maintain an erection.
