PE and family planning
Hello to all
I’ve stumbled on the topic of heat and fertility in the Italian section and have made a little research on the web. I can imagine it may be of interest to those who still may have a desire for reproduction ahead so I post it. Yes, this post may be redundant to information already given but still, I guess it’s of general interest. So, the basic fact is that heat is widely recommended as preparation and injury prevention for PE training. The penis loves heat to get relaxed, the testicles are neutral to heat but their content, the sperms, are very concerned about heat. It makes them die or loose their mobility. Simply stated, applying heat to the testicles reduces fertility and enhances the chances of sterility.
The big question is: for how long?
I’ve found two sources which look reliable to me that I’d like to share:
- The “Hodenbadengruppe Zurich” (yes, that means “testicles bathing group Zurich” :-) ) made a medically assisted self-experiment in the eighties in order to allow men to be in charge of birth control. The setting was: a daily bath of the testicles for 45 minutes at 45°C (112° Fahrenheit). The procedure was done on a special chair that allowed the testicles (with small weights) to drop in temperature-controlled water below. The sperm count and sperm motility fell beyond the medically considered sterility line of less than 10 million sperms per ml after 3-4 weeks. After stopping the baths, the (desired) sterility effect remained for 4 to 6 weeks. No negative effects on general health or reconstitution of the fertility has been reported.
- Marta Vögeli, a Swiss M.D (are we Swiss specialists in sterility???) made a well documented experiment in India. The method were full body baths at 45°C for 45 minutes. She reported a sterility remaining for up to 6 months after stopping the bath procedures. Again, no negative effects on general health or reconstitution of the fertility has been reported. Not being a medic myself, I guess the longer period of sterility comes from the more intense heat applied by the full-body bathing which heated up not only the testicles but the whole body and therefore generated overall higher temperature in the surrounding tissues compared to the Hodenbadengruppe-method. This is well documented here:
Conclusion: if you want to make a baby and are in active PE training using heat, you probably should make a deconditioning break of several months in order to regain fertility.
The good news is that this should be possible without any negative side-effects or loss of fertility after systematic heat application.
Does anybody have experiences with that situation? Personally, I’m over the baby-wanting and baby-making phase, but maybe others are interested in field-reports.
Best regards
