Please help!! Rogaine onset ED

Please help!! Rogaine onset ED

Im twenty years old and have been using rogaine since march. At first there were no problems but by the time summer rolled around I noticed I had a lower sex drive. This didn’t seem to bother me much so I just went along with my life. Then I had an opportunity to have sex with my ex-girlfriend and I could barely get it up. I also came in like 2 minutes. Ever since then I have NO sex drive at all and very weak and infrequent erections. It sent me into a deep depression and I had no idea why this was happening. Like I can’t even think of sex if I tried.

So 2 weeks ago I finally realized that this was caused by rogaine as I have never felt anything like this before and it was the only ‘medication’ I was using. Many people claimed the same side effects on the internet from Rogaine. Since stopping, I noticed slightly better EQ but I still have no sex drive at all and can only get erections if I watch porn. I feel like this is never going to go away. Every time I couldn’t perform with girl before I would surely get less EQ because it affected my psychologically but I still had a sex drive. Even taking horny goat weed/ginseng/tribulus terristris doesn’t improve my sex drive. I was hopeful once I stopped the rogaine but now nothing has changed!!!

Can anyone please give me advice or anything? Any advice will help. I need to get my life back!

If anything it should have the opposite effect. I’m sure I’ve read about some doctors suggesting rubbing it on your penis as it promotes blood flow nto that area.

Maybe its because you’re 26? As you age your sex drive drops. Mine did around 25. I wasn’t doing anything different, but my sex drive dropped from relentless all the way down to obsessive. If you think its unusual, go to the doctor.

I know that you guys may think that minoxidil does not have these side effects, but trust me they do. Do a simple google search. Since theses side effects are more rare than other minoxidil side effects, i.e. dandruff, the FDA doesn’t report them. Even when I fully recovered from the depression caused by no sex drive and ED, I still had these side effects. Guys, I’m positive it is caused by minoxidil. And by the way, I’m only 20 years old northmiami.

I have read that it does support blow flow to the penis if rubbed on but that’s only a temporary thing. So many reports online show that users begin to feel very horny when using it but then a few months later there sex drive completely disappears and they get very weak and infrequent erections. PE hasn’t been helping nor has anything else. Should I try some of those serious dick pills like VigRX? I’ve been dealing with this for 3 months, it needs to end now.

Trust me - Minoxidil DOES have those side effects, even if they are not noted. And for the record, they do say in some men there are sexual side effects yet they don’t mention what they are. Fendrlovr, you know your body better than anyone else. I was on that crap briefly. When I used it, I got light headed and then my semen production dropped to almost nothing. My sex drive almost completely dried up and my EQ was shot. I went from being able to shoot intense loads and lots of semen to dribbling out a couple drops. Yeah, the hair started regrowing, but the sex life was gone. What did I choose? Needless to say, I’m bald.

I was probably about 26 or 27 when I used it. Give it time to get out of your system and you’ll be good to go. Also, do a search for BTB jelqing and start doing that.

Serious starting point: Nov. 2, 2009/BPEL 5.75 x 4.75 inches.

Current BPEL 7 1/2 x 5.5 inches.

Goal: BPEL 8 x 6 inches. Hell, if I hit 8, I'm going for 9!

Thank you man, It feels good to know someone went through the same thing. Do you remember how long after stopping rogaine did your sex drive come back? Also how long did you use it for?

Id rather be completely bald then lose the ability to have an erection.

If there was a PE bible, that would be the book of ED, chapter 4, verse 9.

Yeah… I’ve been using Rogaine & some other related stuff… I am thinking of dumping it all when it runs out. If I lose my hair, then so be it…

It’s been at least 8-10 years since I used it but I want to say I used it for about a month and after I stopped, I started regaining sex drive after a month or so to get it out of my system. Just stay off the crap and get it out of your system and you’ll get it back (your sex drive that is.)

If you’re losing your hair, try saw palmetto. Use it topically on your scalp or take it orally. Taken orally will help any prostate problems as well.

Couldn’t possibly have been another cause for your problem I guess. Your short experience with the drug is enough to qualify you to advise others against it?

I think the OP should look at what else might be causing his ED and see a physician for a real diagnosis.

It’s possible it’s the minoxidil, but very unlikely as the bloodstream absorption from topical application to the scalp is minimal. The side effects are so few that in a lot of countries like the UK it’s available over the counter (unlike the class of drugs such as finasteride etc. which work by central Testosterone->DHT inhibition). The nocebo effect means that believing a side effect is possible from the drug makes it possible.

I’ve been using it for nearly a year without a problem, works great and given that it’s not oral I don’t experience any side effects apart from an initially itchy scalp. Saw Palmetto is a biologically active drug, whether it’s from a natural source is irrelevant, and seems to work via inhibiting some part of the DHT process, which really could have an effect on sex drive.

See a doctor and get a general work-up, especially hormones. Probably best you stop using rogaine anyway, if you really believe it’s giving you ED your body’s going to produce that effect whether it’s a possible side effect or not, but it should be stated for other people in the thread that it’s largely unheard of and that one case in a million can be more easily ruled out as a coincidence. Every single drug has a plethora of posts online about side effects people believe they’re experiencing, yet they don’t approach statistical significance, but making people worry about those effects will increase the rate they occur (it was noted in a recent study that people taking finasteride who had heard about sexual side effects were abnormally more likely to experience ED and loss of sex drive than those who hadn’t).

westla has a good point.

I’m using revivogen, rogaine, & tricomin. I have great EQ these days in spite of that.

I’ve been using rogaine for many years & I am 36 years old; so its not going to cause issues with at least some guys (people like me). In fact, you may be a rare minority even if rogaine is the culprit for your issues.

There wasn’t any other causes for me personally. Never been on any other drugs or meds at the time or even after. Hmm, start using, start losing EQ, semen load and sex drive. Stop losing, start regaining EQ, semen load and sex drive. You tell me westla.

If someone is experiencing the same crap as me, I’ll give my $.02 since he posted it here in a public forum. The crap is OTC so it’s not like I’m giving him medical advice for something that will or won’t kill him.

Sorry, don’t know where I got 26 from. Must have crossed my eyes before reading your post. If you think its rogaine, stop using it if that makes you feel better. And then go to the doctor. Tell him your concerns. If you’re the sort of person who doesn’t want to go to a doctor because you don’t think they know anything, go to whatever kind of professional you think can help you. Herbalist, acupuncturist, santero. Doing something is better than nothing.
