Safe sex????

I guess my concern/curiousity may be a better word, would be how many of these partners various people discuss, did one practice safe sex.

People say they are practicing safe sex (even have a thread on condoms) because they are scared of AIDS; VD etc, but it seems there are a lot of people that still won’t take the time to use a condom while having sex with multiple partners. It is almost like it is “cool” to say you have safe sex, than admit that you aren’t. Maybe it is the flack you get when you say you got lost in the mood and forgot. Maybe you already felt bad about not having safe sex and don’t necessarily need someone rubbing it in. I don’t know, but I am curious in 2003, are men/women having safe sex.

(Actually, I wanted to do a poll but didn’t know how).

Good question and valid points. Anyone who is having sex with multiple partners and isn’t using some form of protection, IMHO has a few screws loose. And even in the begininng of a new sexual relationship, unless you are absoultely sure of where your partner has been lately (last year or so) its a good idea. Testing for STD’s isn’t foolproof and often times an STD doesn’t show up for several months to years.

Most men, and guys you can just nail me for this if you want, don’t like using condoms because, they “decrease the sensation” during sex. Since I don’t wear one, I don’t know if this is true or not, I would wager a guess that sensation is somewhat decreased but probably not as much as guys make it out to be. Now I am pretty confident that the guys on Thunders place think with their brains, like the ones between the ears and use protection.

I haven’t checked the figures from the National Disease Center, but last I knew the numbers of people with AIDS was on the rise, and it isn’t homosexuals or druggies who are getting it. It is hetrosexuals who aren’t practicing safe sex. If anyone has those figures, please share with the rest of us.

Saw this thread after the “How many partners?” thread.

For me condoms decrease the sensation a lot, to where I can´t really have sex because I don´t feel the friction and lose my erection. Maybe it´s about finding a condom that fits right.

So I usally try to wear one at the beginning but it enver works so it comes off sooner or later. I don´t have casual sex though, just with regular or at least semi-regular partners whom I know well.

Unfortunatly it doesn´t have to be the girls who sleeps around who gives you anything, might as well be the girl who just had one boyfriend, who got it from him and don´t even know it.

I try to be a safe as I can, by getting to know the girls really well first, but of course there´re no guarantees.

Sooner or later you have to lose the condom in a relationship though, I guess you could test before you do that but that doesn´t appeal to my sense of romance. Might be smart, but would feel cheap.

Condoms SUCK.

Condoms are for strangers. Once it is agreed that two people are going to be exclusive, than it is time to find a way to fuck “raw”.

Children are probably the worst STD you can get.

I don’t expect a woman to care whether I like condoms or not, it’s not like they are losing out on sensation. But I’ve been told by chicks that they are not fond of condoms either for it dries them out during sex. But, in these troubled times, condoms are necessary. Too many disease-bags out there.

Yea, and giving birth is “somewhat” painfull but not as much as gals make it out to be. Ever notice how all of the sex “experts” saying that condoms don’t reduce sensation are women? Try wearing rubber booties next time you walk in the surf at the beach, or surgical gloves when you caress someone.

I don’t know if it is mainly women saying it isn’t doesn’t take the sensitivity away or not. I do know that there are condoms out there that doesn’t take all the sensation away. I know this because I use to make my husband wear one when we were dating.

The unfortunate thing about condoms is they have pros and cons and the pros I think should outweigh the cons.

I had sex with a guy when I was 17 who I knew had multiple partners. I insisted we use a condom. He bitched, moaned and groaned all while I put the condom on him. Needless to say during the exercise routine, he removed the condom because it was not comfortale for him. I sympathize with him. But he put me at risk when he decided to remove the condom. Jerk off if you think you are close but cant feel anything. Something. There are solutions and in this wild and crazy world we find ourselves in, nothing is safe. I sweated ten long years wondering if he contaminated me with something.

And with partners…that can be tricky too. People cheat. Not all people cheat, but people cheap. I am an extremely faithful person, but I have not always been a saint. You never know who is actually faithful or not. I believe with all my heart that you will never truly and completely know a person. People are weak. They have weak moments. And they don’t always confess to these weak moments and put their partners at risk.

They do have female condoms out now. I have little knowledge of them but I do know they exist.

Sex is great. I like the intimacy and sensations of it, but who wants their last great fu*ck, to be their last?

Even the “largest” condom available I’ve tried didn’t feel good. Hell, my member turned purple & “flipped out” the inside membrane of mushroom tip.

Still, man, i don’t care if you REALLY KNOW your chick, she may “bitchify” on ya one day and blackmail ya with a pregnancy. Too risky NOT to use it….unless you know of a state that doesn’t screw men legally.

Their are a vast number of ultra thin and sheer condoms to choose from, hundreds in fact….if you have a girth of 4.5”s. At just over 6”s I get just as couple of choises, none of them ultra thin. I would gladly pay a bunch more $ if they would do some limited production runs of a chubby pleasureplus condom. I have talked to a number of guys that say these things are the greatest invention since oral sex.

I guess the same falls true to oral sex. Maybe if a guy goes down on a woman and uses plastic wrap as a shield, then she/we will unerstand how insensitive such a thing could be and together you could think of a way for you both to enjoy the feeling and be protected at the same time.

I think in the meantime, I have to read up on condoms. There has to be a condom to satisfy men’s girth. But I mentioned before I liked Shiek oe Sheik or however it is spelled. My husband said it wasn’t as bad as the others. And his girth is pretty good as well.
