Seriously why is circumcision still done today

Just about every post that many of the Anti-Circumcision crowd type can’t be posted without, some sort of comment similar to, “it’s great to hear that you are really happy that you’re circumcised, even though it caused you great pain. I hope you don’t regret the stupid decision you made to “mutilate” yourself. Please don’t abuse your kids with this barbaric “surgery”. “

The above “comment” is the type of stuff I consistently hear/see on this thread. On one hand, “AC” guys SAY that they are happy if someone is cut, to cover that “base” , but there is almost always some backhanded comment inserted to show the disdain with the procedure.

I know you the “AC” guys will rail at this, and say, “I never said this”, etc., etc., yidda, yidda yadda. Oh well, I’ll get over it.

there is something like foreskin restauration, so why would the skin around the shaft not stretch along over time?

I had it done today btw. No opinion on all this yet.. but I didn’t have a choice! Medical reasons.
I’m 24 now, and I think I can judge the best of both worlds in a few months.

Two of the sexiest women I know say that a circumcised dick looks so much “cleaner” than an uncut one. That’s enough reason for me to change my mind and finally appreciate what my parents did.

My wife wanted me to mention that being cut also increases your chances of getting laid by a Jewish woman. Needless to say, she is Jewish.

If someone is going to be biased against your dick due to religion, they have no place in my bedroom.

Not to be rude or anything, but here in my country.. People always make fun of uncircumcised guys. So I had no choice but to do it when I was 11 even if I don’t want to. My family basically forced me to do it. I know how an uncut and cut penis feels like when stimulated because I experienced both. Well, to be honest, they are exactly the same and right now that I am cut I had no sensitivity issues. Like sta-kool, my doctor didn’t cut my whole foreskin. He left some and even saved my frenulum which I am most happy about. I’m okay with being circumcised but sometimes I can’t help but wonder how it feels like to be uncut again. Sigh.

Sigh. I don’t really care what the arguments are for or against circumcision. It should have been my choice.

I’m glad that adult men can have done to their bodies whatever pleases them. But I can’t get my head around people making the choice for other men that happen to not be grown yet. What the pro-mutilation people seem to not get is that if a percentage of the adult population disagrees with them then their son may well grow up to be one of those people. Is it then still not his right to his own opinion on the matter when he’s 37 and looking down at a penis you made with your wonderful decision? Because he is your son you get to do whatever you feel is ok with his body do you? So the guy next door one ups you and cuts his kid’s arms off to save him getting sweaty arm pits later in life, do you disagree or nod sagely that a father knows best?

So how about this. I’ve examined the pro circumcision arguments and I agree in principle as far as the procedure is performed on pro baby circumcision people. I know now for a fact (thanks to the pro mutilation arguments) that it’s good to chop off body parts if you can rationalise it somehow with positive benefits and if you are doing it with good intentions.

I figure that if I chop off arms, legs, heads etc of pro baby mutilation people that there are all sorts of benefits. Less washing. Less soap use. Saves water and better for the environment. Smaller coffin when you die and less wood used to make coffins (so many benefits for the environment!). Creates work for the prosthetic and wheelchair industry. And you will be eligible for handicapped parking. Your chance of spontaneous combustion reduced in direct correlation to the amount of body mass chopped off. If I chop off your leg then the chances of you breaking that leg in later life, especially during sex, are greatly reduced. Your chances of catching mosquito born viruses reduced in almost direct correlation to the amount of exposed skin removed. Less chance of you mutilating babies. The list goes on. You will get used to the loss of sensation. You don’t need it. Plenty of people had it done in all kinds of wars and you don’t see them complaining so it must be good.

Anyway if you are pro baby circumcision then I’ve already decided that it’s in your best interests. You are obviously not old enough to make such an important choice in the way I want you to. So let me just strap you to my work bench, plug in my circular saw and we’ll get it over with. I’m usually pretty accurate with a saw on wood. Flesh and bone I guess might be similar so complications should only affect a small number of you but the rest will be fine ok? Try and hold still.

I figure we’ll get your family around for drinks and moral support. You can scream and struggle all you want but we will just look at you and say “there there” while we pat ourselves on the back for doing such a good thing to you, even though you don’t know it yet. We might feel bad that you are screaming and crying but we will be resolute and make sure you are strapped down tight while we saw off the bits you don’t really want.

Ok so I’ve been thinking in the 5 minutes since I posted and I figure that 5 minutes of thought is already 299 seconds more thought than baby circumcision aficionados will be able to follow so I cut it short. My deep thinking has produced a break through for all you people who think it’s a good idea to chop off bits of a baby - YOU’VE BEEN KEEPING THE WRONG PART!!

It’s simple logic really. If you cut things off to prevent them being in the way, or getting dirty, or possibly looking bad to some as yet unmet person, or to suit society and religion then it’s simple. Every other body part has more associated diseases, potential problems and embarrassments than the foreskin.

Take for example, the head of a baby mutilator. It’s just a useless bit of skin with a bony bubble inside it that they never use. Yet it carries so many risks - headaches, it might be ugly, it needs to be cleaned constantly or else it emits a foul stench, it harbors pests, it gets banged into things, other people assume a head to contain a functioning brain so it causes things to be written and said that help continue pointless mutilation of babies and so on. The head in their case should be gotten rid of when young as well as all the other body parts that carry risks.

The foreskin on the other hand is quite innocuous in comparison.

So, if you are determined to mutilate your baby, keep the wonderfully simple and comparatively trouble free foreskin and give the bit you don’t want to someone who can treat a baby humanely and grow it into a useful and thoughtful human being.

And take heart - the real you, the “uncluttered you” that you really want to be, might be yet be lying in a medical dump somewhere.

Hair halfway up my shaft, relatively tight skin, slight turkey neck. I’m not sure if these are symptoms of being circumcised but I have them.

My stance is simple.

1. Without the above things, I love the look of my dick. It’s my dick after all.
2. I’d probably love the look of my dick uncircumcised too if that were the case. It would be my dick after all.
3. The ball should have been left in my court. Much like ear piercings and other bodily surgeries for aesthetic purposes.
4. The risk of circumcision outweighs the risk of not getting circumcised medically from my understanding, so another reason for 3.
5. Really I’m a bit pissed I had a part of me cut off.

I too feel violated that circumcision was forced upon me. One day the population will progress past the futile practice of circumcision at infancy and look back on it as a primitive and unnecessary ritual.

That’s fine but you must acknowledge - switch the genders around and it is indistinguishable from the case made by Somali women for why they want their daughters to be cut.

I was going to mention that, but I didn’t want to pull away from the topic. Western medicine employs a more sterile surgical method, and there are more mishaps during the operation with Somali women who are cut. The point is that both of these antediluvian rituals are carried out for the wrong reasons and are unnecessary.

Those two “hot” girls thought uncut penises looked unclean because circumcision is the status-quo. I am sure if the majority of the penises in the world were uncircumcised those two girls, along with all other women would be just as attracted to uncut dick. Our species would then continue to thrive and procreate with our all natural penises.

Pretty sure that the majority are uncut. Just not in their world.

Estimates are that no more than 40% of males in the world are circumcised.
