varicocele surgery

Can anybody tell me about this corrective procedure? I’m curious to know what happens, how invasive it is, cost, etc? I’m 20 years old and its just kind of embarassing to have one side hanging lower and the insides feeling like spaghetti or something. I also have a question about insurance. I’m an adult, but I’m on a family health plan. This surgery is obviously something a little awkward to talk about so I’m wondering I could do it without it becoming common knowldge in my family.
