It depends on your situation, as others have said above. I know that with my wife, if I was at 6.5”, spontaneous sex would be off the table a little more. I get up before her in the morning, shower, and sometimes will sneak in a quickie while she’s half asleep. I’m 5-5.25” and she’s pretty receptive with a tiny bit of lube. I’ve pumped myself to 6-6.5” before and on those nights, there’s some more deep breathing involved when we get going, and if she’s not really “getting there” and letting me get mine, there’s a lot more grippage and some winces if I’m not done quickly. Now, if I gradually got there over time, she’d accommodate obviously to the slow changes, but the abrupt change isn’t too great…and she’s said as much to me. And as far as anal, yeah she’s said when I’m pumped that there’s no way she’d let me try. Obviously, this all varies woman to woman and many have no issues with 6.5”, but there are a fair number that wouldn’t want that much regularly. I’m shooting for 5.75” if that’s at all possible, and that would be good enough for me.

Like you said, it varies a lot. Also keep in mind that as women age, many of them have thinning of the vaginal walls and typically don’t get as moist, so good lubrication is key. As I aged, gone (pretty much) are the days when you’d go down on a girl, made her orgasm and then she’d be sopping wet and ready to go. Three years ago I dated a 31 year old woman and she loved the girth, no lube needed. With my SO -who is 47 but has the body of a 17 year old-, generous lubrication is needed and slow entry and build-up required, but then again she’s exceptionally tight. And that’s been the case with pretty much every woman over 40-something I have been with.

But it’s silly to keep looking for that magic number, IMO, it depends on too many things, and very few women will fuck a guy merely because he has ideal dick stats. It’s about listening to her, learning her preferences and catering to her needs.
