They reach 120-160F. I don’t know if it’s the appropriate temperature. I’m unsure about the IR lamp because you need to keep your abdomen and other parts around safe. Heating pads seem simpler and less risky. I might be wrong. I’m new.
As far as the ir lamp wearing a shirt has been good enough for me. Then I cover my sac as best as I can with any fabric. I’m sure there can be complications using it too much but I haven’t noticed any in the years I’ve been using one. Also 160 degrees seems like a lot but I could be wrong.
Otherwise absolute worst case scenario you can make a rice sock and throw it in the microwave. I’ve never liked them though because that would make me have to get up and redo it every time it cooled off. I think you are putting too much thought into the ir lamp.
