Another Measurement Thread

No intro. Placing ruler on top vs. On the side. What’s the utmost correct way? Why?

We measure on the top here.

If you do measure otherwise use it for self reference only and to to compare.

That would be cheating, now wouldn’t it?

Having a curve contradicts with the term “cheating”) I mean, there’s half an inch lost and that’s why I might misunderstand the true size

We measure the same way every time to track our personal gains accurately.

If you want to compare yourself to most guys here (which I don’t suggest getting in the habit of doing) measure on the top.

Yes a curve can complicate things a bit but which side do you measure? One is going to be a lot shorter than the other. If you straighten your curve over time and you are measuring the long side your ruler might not show any growth while measuring the short side will show huge gains.

None are wrong or cheating, if you don’t worry about comparing yourself to other members and find a way to be as consistent as possible.
