I love the rules on this forum. They’re exactly how I would run a forum. Grammar and spelling is a huge thing in my life; I live by it. Also, kudos on the Spell Check thing. For some reason, I’ve never seen that on any of the forums I’ve been to before. For anything.

This forum is extremely well made, I love it. I can see myself coming here for many years to come. :)

I’m sort of surprised that Scott88 was put on “hold”, he did apologize for his remark. His comments were very rude, mostly his second comment, but he DID apologize.

As long as the forum is not yours you must abide by the guidelines and should respect the wishes of the forum creator. I do, however, think that some of the guidelines are a bit pedantic. Hell, even when I see perfect grammar I still can’t make heads or tails out of some posts. Choice of words and how they are arranged convey more meaning. Studies show that people identify words using only the first and last letter. You can rearrange the letters in between, but most people can still understand what the word is.

Regarding the use of “i”, I guess e.e. cummings wouldn’t last long on this forum.

Heh, I’ve read that paragraph in English Class in High School. It’s an entire paragraph, and not a single word is spelled right. Only the first and last letters are the same, and it’s completely legible. It’s interesting. About 70% of the class didn’t even notice until about half way through.

Also, understanding single words is a thing, understanding a whole post is another. A lot of ambiguity.

Believe it or not, you can read a whole paragraph of mispelled words almost as quickly as if they were spelled correctly. I’m going to try to find a paragraph. Now, this is intentional, so please don’t bump me off for mispelled words.
