From what I’ve concluded about the LOT, doesnt it just mean that we should all be stretching/jelqing at a low angle, regardless of lot?

LOT is an theory, it doesn’t mean it is true. Actually most vets don’t believe in it

I believe the answer to your question is “no”, Xerp. But as Bird said, LOT should by no means be taken as gospel.

How come? What are the downsides to jelq/stretching downward?

Stretching downward should be just fine, and I would imagine that you could jelq downward as well. The theory of LOT is just that, theory, it hasn’t been proven to be effective in determining what types of gains one will acheive. It is a slight indicator of whether or not you have extremely tight ligs.

Sometimes it is easier to stretch upward because you don’t have to stretch your arm that much.

Stretching upward is what you have to do too if you’re doing Manual Stretching routine.
But Jelqing upward might sound a little awkward to me… I don’t know, I can’t imagine what it looks like, but you might try it since nothing is seriously wrong with it

Routine : Manual-V-Inverted V-JAI-BTC stretches (alot of stretches :D ). Wet Jelq, Pumping (once a week to maintain my girth)
