Cementing Gains, Deconditioning Break, and Other Questions

I’d like to begin by saying that I am thinking of starting a deconditioning routine, by decreasing the duration of my PE sessions from over an hour down to just a couple minutes and decreasing the frequency of the sessions, then slowly working my way back up. I have decided to do this because I have read that ‘cementing your gains’ is an old PE myth, and I do not wish to take a deconditioning break for fear of losing my hard-earned gains. Now, here is an analogy that will put things into perspective. Suppose a man gained some muscle mass from lifting heavy weights. If he were to start slowly decreasing the weight over a period of time and the frequency of lifting, to the point where he’s only lifting a much smaller weight infrequently, would he lose any of his hard-earned muscle mass? Obviously he would lose some strength due to his body adapting to a lighter weight but, if nothing else changed, would he keep his gains?

Just going to bump this thread by saying that regardless of whether or not they keep their gains, I am going to experiment with this and see if it will work. I personally think it will be productive for gains but the only way to prove it is to see for yourself.

PE gains are not like muscle gains, muscle adapts to the need for strength to do stuff such as lift or move weight. The penis changes, excluding a short duration temporary pump or stretch, are permanent.

I find it hard to believe that after retiring from PE, one might not lose at least a small portion of his gains, but I can sort of understand why that might not exactly be the case.

This is absolutely correct. Only if you bound your penis up all day or otherwise compressed it, like some Asian ladies do with their feet or some African tribes do with their foreheads, would it get smaller. If you make true permanent gains beyond a temporary increase in elasticity, there are actually more cells and more collagen in the extracellular collagen matrix, a much less dynamic system than skeletal muscle, and much more resistant to change. Simply being alive and getting your nocturnal erections along with sex and/or masturbation will maintain your length. If this was not the case, you would be steadily shrinking after the conclusion of puberty.

One more thing, I took a six month break pretty recently. Only lost a tiny bit and this happened early on, like in the first month. Then things stayed basically the same. When I started PE’ing again, the bit I lost came back almost immediately - I think this portion of my gains was what could be attributed to elasticity, less than 1/4” in my case.

Does tolerance to a certain exercise (a stretch that puts tension on the tunica or ligaments, for example) only decrease when you take a deconditioning break, or can it decrease if you reduce the duration, intensity, and frequency of the exercise?

That’s interesting. I figured normal nocturnal erections alone were enough to cement. I was hoping to actually lose a little bit of the gains (I’m 6.25” midshaft girth), but that doesn’t seem likely. I guess it could be worse. :)

Edit: I did see with some other members that they reported losses. If they are reporting accurately (not just post pumping or something like that).
For instance: /pedata/data.ph … sername=Dino9X7
Dino9X7 said he went from 6.5” girth to 6.25” girth

Yes, you are almost certain to use a little bit beyond post pump swelling, etc. When actively doing PE the tissues of your penis become more elastic, easier to stretch and expand. When you stop they lose some of the elasticity. But any permanent remodeling you have achieved should stick around for a VERY long time, or indefinitely. If you keep your cock healthy and happy, that is. :)

Yea, my measurements are after a 3 month break from any pumping jelquing etc. So I assume that’s more permanent. I don’t think I want to get any bigger, just want to maintain penis health.

I just looked at your stats, you have a long one! But not as thick. Did you focus more on length exercises than thickness exercises? I was never really consistent with PE, just occasionally did it over a few years, but I think I gained more in girth than length.

Orome, I have basically hung for most my gains, so there has really been no increase in girth, except at the base where it has increased significantly.

If you would stop PE altogether and dont use your penis at all anymore then you will loose size. No matter if it is worked or natural growth. And this is not only about EQ. Just ask some older guys that stoped using their dick…

Cemented is a very broad term.

Whats up with a person who never stops PE and is always on 100% EQ? Does his size “count”? I say definately yes.

This is exactly right. Get ED, you will lose size. Stop using your cock, you will lose size. Find a way to bind it or keep in compressed, you will lose size. What’s happening isn’t a loss of your gains, it is a process of forced atrophy - basically the opposite of permanent elongation/expansion resulting from PE. And as dickerschwanz said, it will happen to natural or PE created size.

I think that “small” breaks can give your body time to fully heal and hence “cement” a little your gains (that’s why I try to take a 10 days break after I achieve some noticeable gain). I also believe that even if you totally quit jelqing you’ll just loose a little bit of size but will keep like, at least, 70% of what you achieved?

But I’m the noob here :) . Anyway, good luck alternating your routine!

Not sure on the percentage, probably varies based on many factors, but I think it is safe to say you will keep most of your gains.

Also, I just don’t think there is any mechanism to “cement” what you have gained, aside from gaining more until the amount you are wanting to keep can be entirely attributed to remodeling and not merely elasticity. You could probably do some minimal maintainance work indefinitely as well to maintain the elasticity and thus keep the total gains achieved with all your hard work.
