Cold blue glans from vac hanging - please advise

Hi guys,

Beginner here and I recently started vac hanging in the past few weeks. I chose this method of attachment as it apparently doesn’t restrict blood flow to the glans. I have been doing the hanging with FIRe protocol so the total time is approximately 75mins in the cup under load.

I notice at the end of the session my glans are pretty blue/grey in colour and also quite cool to the touch. I squeeze them a couple times and within a few seconds they go back to pink, warm and look normal again. I don’t have any pain, numbness or loss of sensation in the glans during the set or after. They just look and feel a fair bit different for those few moments.

I have done a shorter test of 20 mins and my glans are already a little blue and cooler to the touch by this point (though not as much as at the 75 min mark).

As a beginner I am using very light weights currently 18-24 oz.

I have tested with:

- Medium and large cups and both feel comfortable.
- Soft and more rigid silicone sleeves and of slightly different lengths (I try to use a little as possible to expose as much shaft to the heat pad)
- SO and SD.
- I have tried placing the glans right to the back of the cup and also close to the mouth so there is a large gap between the tip and the cup (using the water trick).

The outcome is the same regardless. The silicone isn’t too tight as I tested a vac cup with no load on for 30 mins and my glans were normal and pink after. So it seems as soon as there is a vacuum, albeit very low given the low loads, this happens.

Should I be concerned? Does anyone else have these symptoms when vac hanging? I thought that a vac cup could be used in an ADS so I am confused why this is happening.

I will note that I did a 9 week stint of the same protocol last year reaching 42oz. I recall having similar symptoms during this time also but to be honest I am not sure they were as pronounced. Maybe I am being more paranoid now I don’t know. I don’t see how my penis could have changed anatomy since then so logically it must have been the same. I just don’t remember noticing as much as I do now.

It’s good to be paranoid, a little. I did hanging with FIRe as well. I only did 1 hr. max hanging. I’m now one month into my second go and have decided to remove the cup half way through the session to get the blood going again. Even after 1hr, I only get slightly cold gray looking glans, but I figure it is good to be safe and now that I have the install/removal down more efficiently I may as well do a quick safety check.

I was normally using the large cup with a couple quick pulls of vacuum and went to the smaller cup with zero vacuum (except that created by the tug) and got my first bubble/blister. It seems that the smaller cups can generate more vacuum psi than the larger ones. This seems quite curious, but may make some sense. The same amount of volume removed from a small cup will generate more vacuum , than that same volume removed from a big cup.

I hate to sound like a broken record showing this Hink video but it needs to be said here.

1. Did you go straight into this or did you do some "hand" hanging beforehand?
2. I’m not sure how FIRe works but read everything about NIR + RED pad. Then you are stretching and healing and reducing time
3. Even if you use FIR pad, still get a NIR + RED light or pad, anything that is wrong with your D I believe you should hit it with a Red light session.

I know the benefits of having a hands free and doing PE and I know that is why there is an industry for this, however, to build up, especially for a newbie I think you need to know about all options on the table. Some people come to these forums and think VAC hanging is the only way.

I went straight into vac hanging as I didn’t like the idea of not knowing exactly how much force I am applying on my D. The structured and calculated approach of FIRe appealed to me more.

So the symptoms I am facing, is this to be expected? I’m not looking to switch to manuals but I appreciate the info shared.

So you have VAC hang, now you kinda estimate how much force you are giving it. Try Manual for 20 min, do you get the same results in Blue glans? Can you split the difference? Yes, I am sorry I don’t have the info on VAC hang you are looking for, but you also don’t know much about your limits. Do you know if your body hates or loves the VAC hang? By 20 min you say you are already experiencing a bit of this. So do you split your day with 2 (20 min) perhaps add some manual with NIR + RED? Only your body will let you know. However, I don’t see anyone say that 75 min straight is better than splitting up into 2 sessions if anything they say splitting is a bit better. That is what I have read. I hope I helped, I will let the VETS talks about the VAC issue you are having.

Maybe this next thing I am about to say is for you or someone else, but the structured and calculated approach may not work for you, so do you call it quits? I think trying everything lightly can be good to see what your body likes and then you can go all in on something. For some of us here FIR is not better than RED/NIR, so are you going to stick to a thread that is closed and you can’t see what it has become? It sucks to go onto a new bandwagon that is false and find no results but it is also not wise to disregard the newest info in PE.
