I am able to get the rice sock to a perfect temperature. After even just 5-7 minutes my penis is warm to the core & almost radiates heat.

If an IR lamp does that for you already, then no worries, but personally, nothing works better for me than a rice sock. I have tried several alternatives, each of which was far more expensive. In the end, the cheap rice sock was the best.

An IR lamp can provide constant heat — my rice socks never stay warm for more than 30 minutes, or 60 minutes if I am lucky. My hanging routine goes much longer than that… Some guys have claimed exceptional gains using constant heat. Baba_Booey for example has made great gains using constant heat :D

Maybe you could try taking it off for the last 5-10mins of the set so that you cool down while extended. I know that when I take the heat off at the end of my sets, my nerves feel like I am getting extra stretch. Whether that actually means I am getting a benefit from it, I don’t know.

I have used heating pads, heat cords, IR lamps, hot water, rice socks, flax socks, and electric blankets for heat. I still use most of them for certain things at times. However the IR lamp is by far the most intense prolonged heat for me.

Benefits of Heat in PE

Aside from the science, I have been hanging everyday for two and a half years now. I can see from my own records that if I up the heat, my monthly gains go up.

As far as near-infrared goes, I think that is what you get from the thermotex heating pads and things like PE Engineer’ LED array? My understanding is that they are more about "promoting healing"?, which as a hanger doesn’t really interest me at the moment. I just want the heat :)
