Once you’ve worked past your newbie routine you can start clamping manually at the base of your dick; kegel and grasp the shaft, lock of and tug your hand upwards along the shaft until you see the glans going first shiny and then a little dimpled and uneven texture. This will be uncomfortable as well, but will eventually allow your glans to swell a little larger.
Care should be taken with clamping, manually or with tools, so as not to overdo it - many a thrombosed vein can vouch for that.
Also, the jelqgrip can be varied to target the glans - and overhand grip (thumb towards base, palm on top of shaft facing down) allows you to get your middle finger(s) onto the CS, which pumps up the glans.
