Hand clamping instead of jelqing for a newbie? (I have reasons..) Good/bad idea?
Hello,
I know it is disapproved of to not follow the newbie routine, but there are a couple of reasons I think hand/manual clamping would work better for me as a newbie. I have done on and off jelq routines and made slight gains. When I say hand clamping I just mean putting your index finger and thumb around the base, and holding that with a 60-80% partial erection. I am still warming up and light stretching, but I want to replace the jelqing with hand clamping for time. I clamp relatively lightly, it is easy to adjust pressure quickly. My reasons are:
1. I did jelqing in the past, so I have a baseball bat shape right now. Hand clamping allows me to keep an equal pressure through the base and shaft so the baseball bat shape won’t get any worse. Also, the fingers around the base may help my base girth to even it out. I don’t like the uneven pressure of jelqs…
2. I am mostly lacking girth. I would prefer to target girth first for some time. I don’t want to increase the length of my unit right now because it is too thin. And I tend to gain length easily. So I would prefer the girth based exercise (hand clamping) compared to jelqing which may add length moreso than girth.
3. I don’t want a turkey neck, which may develop because of the jelqing motion. Hand clamping barely has any movement so skin won’t stretch.
4. Hand clamping is equally easy to control as jelqing, since it is easy to lighten the grip if you feel too much pressure. And I plan to do a schedule where I start out with only 1-2 minutes of clamping per workout, and increase that very slowly.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
