Hard flaccid - Not CPPS?

Hard flaccid - Not CPPS?

I have hard flaccid and a curve to the left of about 20 degrees, along with constriction of girth on the left side. Have had it for 7 months. Have all the hard flaccid symptoms. Have seen 6 Urologists, done Doppler Ultrasound along with MRI, but nothing has shown anything. No Urologist has had any clue whatsoever. I read about hard flaccid being an issue with the pelvic floor, so I went to see a physical therapist specializing in the pelvic floor, but she told me I wasn’t that tense in the pelvic floor and that CPPS probably can’t cause those penile symptoms. She said “hard flaccid” is possible, but not constriction of girth/curvature.

So, was she wrong?

Was there any memorable incident which led to your hard flaccid?

Yes, a couple of blood vessels and veins were broken/ruptured during very rough masturbation. Caused some bruising. No scarring has been found on ultrasound or MRI though.

For you people who’s had hard flaccid (or have), have you ever been evaluated by a physical therapist and what did they say about your pelvis?

She stuck a finger up my ass and felt around a bit. She did say some parts of my anus was tight.

Does it cause a lack of function?

The “tight anus” is not exactly a clinical symptome. Either she has felt an enlarged prostate gland or something different. Maybe you ask her what exactly and where exactly she has felt it.

That leads to the next question: what is your age?

I am no physician, but that sounds a partly like a prostate problem to me. Maybe you should ask the same question in the peyronie forum - I’ve heard they have quite some knowledgeable guys there (patients, not meds!).

Jimmy: Yes, it is tough to get an erection and to get it I must manually stimulate it, otherwise blood flow is “blocked off” on the left side. I have no morning erections.

Richard65: She told me this had to do with the way I was sitting (posterior pelvic tilt). Since this happened in conjunction with an injury I doubt it is the prostate, but thanks anyway it’s something to keep in mind.

When I do relax my muscles around the penis, I can feel things happening on the left side (where I have a constriction). Feels like blood flowing. I haven’t felt like that since the injury. So I definitely think muscles are involved somehow in this. I believe in the CPPS theory. Just a bit confused about what the physical therapist is supposed to say (and do).

I was thinking a little bit about the prostate, and I now remember that I am swollen (quite a bit) around the prostate. And even more swollen on the left side. Will bring this up next time with my physical therapist.

It can be a trivial prostate infection that can be cured by amtibiotics. But only a doctor and a CRP-test will give real certitude.

A therapist is probably not qualified to make that anamnese.

Just my 2 cents

Thanks. Actually it wasn’t by the prostate (I was confused to where this was located). It is the muscles in front of the pubic bone, just above the dick. The muscle on the left side (if it is a muscle) is very swollen and tight. This must be what is causing the erection problems on my left side.

Does anyone have an idea of what this could be? If it’s not a muscle, what is it? Lymph node?

A lymph node will not cause that issue. Now the doctors said they could find nothing wrong correct?

Are you a smoker? How is your overall cardiovascular health?

Some people consider the penis an extension of the cardiovascular system, and if you have poor cardiovascular health maybe it is causing poor blood flow to the penis?

Do you do any running and are you in good physical health?

No, two Urologists have diagnosed me with Peyronie’s disease (in the acute phase), but they admitted they couldn’t see any plague on the Doppler, so they weren’t 100% sure. One of the Uros (Dr Levine, one of the most famous Peyronie’s specialists) told me that I didn’t look like a typical Peyronie’s case, but he was going to treat it as Peyronie’s regardless (probably because he didn’t know what else it could be). I am prescribed Cialis and Pentoxifylline.

The other four Urologists have also confirmed that the penis looked injured, but they couldn’t say what the issue was.

I also went to a haematologist (who specializes in the lymph system). He ordered an ultrasound of my stomach. Will do that in about 2 weeks. He told me it was possible I had lymphatic blockage.

I think my cardiovascular health is good overall. I have a normal 120/80 BP. I don’t smoke.

So if you already have a diagnosis what do you want from this place? Just to see if others have had the same problem?

Yes, hear from others who have been through the same and if they have a better diagnosis. As I mentioned, the Doctors haven’t diagnosed me. They said they don’t know, but will treat it as Peyronie’s disease regardless. I just read a book about CPPS and read that being misdiagnosed as a Peyronie’s sufferer was a common occurrence for people suffering from hard flaccid.

So you have diagnosed yourself with hard flaccid?
