Hot Tub Jelqs

While replying to a recent post about how to break through a newbie plateau with the suggestion of hot tub jelqs, it occurred to me that hot tub jelqs aught to be highlighted a bit, thus this post. They’re my #1 most valued PE exercise. I always go to these to kick start a new gains campaign. They’ve always worked well for me for both length and girth gains.

You need a hot tub to do them. I already had one when I discovered PE. I recommend that any PE practitioner without a hot tub considering getting one. That may seem a bit extreme a thing to consider, but considering that guys consider (and do) surgery, a hot tub is a relatively reasonable thing to consider. Obviously, if you already have a hot tub, I recommend you try jelqing in it. It’s also a great place for sex…see BG for details. Point being: you’ll get more than just a PE benefit from a hot tub.

Immersion of the legs and abdomen into hot water (104-112 ideally) seems to be key to the effectiveness (=generation of gains) of hot tub jelqs. The implication is that mobilization of strain in penis-adjacent fascia occurs during hot tub jelqing, presumably as a result of the broad heating that occurs under immersion of the abdomen and legs. It stands to reason that if more tissue is strained, more gains occur. There are several excellent threads regarding heat and PE on the Forum. To grossly summarize them, it’s generally acknowledged that heat is a good thing with respect to PE and safety/injury avoidance. For all PE practitioners, and newbs in particular, this is a big benefit of hot tub jelqs.

I recommend using olive oil for hot tub jelqs. For all jelqs really, but it’s basically a requirement for hot tub jelqs. At least something that’s immiscible in water is required. Oil fits the bill. But use olive oil, it’s the best.

As I’ve indicated in my Progress Report Thread, for the first 4 months of my PE career, which I consider my newbie phase, my training consisted almost exclusively of hot tub jelqs. I gained 1” BPEL and 0.375” EG over those first 4 months doing almost nothing other than daily hot tub jelqing.

My general hot tub jelqing training program:

X sets of 100 low (less than 50%) erection level hot tub jelqs (X=1…n), followed by
X sets of 100 high (more than 50%)erection level hot tub jelqs (X=1…n).
Done every day until the value of X gets too high to make the method practical. Adjust erection level and/or use different values of X for low and high sets to suit gains objectives.

Start at X=1 for week 1. Increase the value of X by 1 every week or two, whatever seems to work best. For newbs increasing X every 2 weeks is advised. Vets coming off of decon may need to start at a higher X and raise X faster than newbs in order generate gains from their relatively more conditioned tissues. Newbs should try to stretch out their hot tub jelqing phase, make it last, hot tub jelqing is about as fun as PE training gets.

Wish I had a hot tub. I’ve never bothered much with “warm-ups” in PE, since most methods of heat application don’t seem substantial & sustained enough, to me, to make a real difference. A hot tub, like those IR lamps people use, seems like a plausible method for facilitating gains via heat.

I understand and share your thoughts on heat application, it possibly not being substantial and sustained enough. That’s where hot tub jelqs are a bit different I think. An immersed 98.6 degree body becomes a heat sink in a hot tub. And all the tissues in the pelvic region are subject to this effect. But why it works is less important to me than the fact that it works.

It’s kinda funny, discussing PE first came about when mrs. x told me to quit masturbating in the hot tub…I had some ‘splaining to do :)

I’ve been doing something similar and would like to know your thoughts.
I start out with stretching in the shower - holding my stretched penis under the hot water for as long as I stretch for. I turn the shower off and do 250 wet jelqs, and then I stretch under the shower again for a warm-down.

I recommend it to anyone who gets sick of the heat of a bath tub for long periods of time. The shower is less intense. I haven’t been doing it for a long time - I started in early November and I’ve been busy over Thanksgiving break, taking 4-5 day breaks - so I’ll tell you how the results go now that I’m back in the routine of doing it every second day. It seems to keep my penis warm throughout the exercise.

I think the immersion in the hot water of a hot tub is the key aspect that makes hot tub jelqs work. Although I’ve wondered if sauna jelqs would work similarly well by the related concept of immersion in hot moist air. But I figured the staff down at the Y might not like me using their sauna to test this idea out, so yea, your idea sounds great. Lot less chance of having some ‘splaining to do too.

Hot Tub PE

I’ve been doing PE in the hot tub the last couple of years and have written about it a lot. I do manual stretches V stretches and A bends rotary cranks and Jelq in that hot bubbly 104 degree water. I also hydro pump and clamp. After the hot water routine I slip on lead weights and get in the icy pool to cool down the penile tissue in the extended length held by the weights. I think this may be how I’ve made most of my flaccid gains. I thought of using the AutoExtender underwater also, but I don’t want to rust the hardware. Maybe MB should make some stainless steel hardware for the extender to be used underwater.

Now that I think about it I believe everything is stainless except the rods.

Well since you brought it up. I used to do quite a bit of hot tub extending with my homemade stretcher. I’ve attached a picture of my stretcher, it aint pretty, but it works great. For my hot tub stretching, I employed the Static Progressive Stretch (SPS ) concept, which has been traditionally used for range of motion improvement. The heated environment is crucial for SPS penis stretching. It didn’t work under an IR light, although I think it might work when done in a hot water bottle sandwich. But it’s just a heck of a lot easier in a hot tub. And safer.

What I’d do is stretch out to my max stretcher length, which was always the same as my BPFSL, then wait 2-3 minutes and crank the stretcher out a little further, repeat. I’d do 15 minute sets during which I’d do 5-6 incremental stretcher cranks. Over the duration of the set, I could typically get about an extra 3/16" to occasionally a 1/4" beyond my BPFSL. Mrs. x would just shake her head when she’d see me heading for the hot tub with a (stretcher caused) tent pitched in my robe and a ruler in the robe pocket :) .

I found it very encouraging to see my future BPFSL before I got there out of the tub and out of the stretcher. Checking my spreadsheet notes I see that I saw tub/stretcher bound lengths go from 7.875" to 8.5" before I stopped doing them…ran out of rod :) . Ahh, reminiscing is such fun.

I’ve got a sauna, so guess I’ll employ that for some of those “heated” exercises .. Don’t know if there’s much difference in being only partly immersed in heat or completely surrounded. Have to say hot tub sounds more comfortable, though, as I suspect that water as an element and the slight pressure it provides has a soothing effect that enables one to go on longer than in plain air. Sweat might also cause irritation issues in a sauna. If I remember I’ll get back to you with this after I’ve begun my newbie regimen, especially if there are particular observations to make.

While I accept the premise of heat aiding PE (this has been long known to alleviate sports related aches and speed recovery) I’m slightly worried about one aspect of it. As we, and especially the tissues in question are made up of proteins a common physical reaction called coagulation might be an issue. The role of accumulating irreparable heat related damage in aging is mostly only speculated upon as far as gerontologists go, but there are a few theories around that do raise the question. As PE involves some intentional, controlled damage in form of cellular reorganisation it is not completely out of the realm of possibilities that this damage could be aided and abetted by heat also. In positive or negative terms. Well, this might be a mute point since it does prevent more acute injuries and those who’ve actually done a lot of PE can reflect on this in practical terms, something I’m not equipped to do as of yet.

On another note, I found the references to self made stretching appliances interesting. As I seldom settle for compromises, perhaps even less so if the equipment comes to an acute contact with my privates, and like to tinker things to my liking I would surely appreciate pointers how to go about building different effective, functional and easy stretching devices and perhaps also a short lists of “things that need to be improved” and “common mistakes”. Originally I thought of making a go of PE from Jan. 1st, 2006, seeing the abundance of information here, but I’m growing restless since, uh, I’m not “growing” just by thinking about it. I guess part of the process is “academic” and part is just getting to grips with it, quite literally, by practice, right?

God, PEers are so alike. I too head down to the hot tub every night with PE devices in my robe pockets with the Mrz. shaking her head at me. I am going to try my AutoExtender in the tub tonight. Haven’t gotten the stainless steel bolts yet, but I guess drying them with a hair dryer will suffice until I do

I shall consider this. I have stretched in the hot tub but never jelqed. My favourite lube is Vaseline, would this still be good in hot water?

The only problem is I need visual stimulation, preferably a beautiful girl sitting down the other end of the tub or a portable TV running a porn on it. Either are difficult :( .

I don’t know, but expect that Vaseline would work. But I encourage you to try olive oil. While not visual stimuli, the jets in a hot tub can be quite stimulating. Do me a favor Hugh and report back if you try them. I’m very curious to know if others experience the same positive results that I have.

Guys a bathtub would work almost as well. Thanks for this thread x, this has made me consider doing the newbie routine in the hot tub and see what I can get. I can already feel something different, I’ll measure in a month and see.
