Is pump duration o.k. if donut is minimal?

Last night I pumped at least 45 minutes with ups and downs in the pressure due to my automatic pump’s programs. I was expecting to have the donut effect, and there appeared to be the beginning of it, but it didn’t happen.

Is it desirable to pump as long as possible without getting a significant donut effect, or is that still likely to cause trouble?

Also, for those who pump several times per day, what is the minimum rest interval between sessions? I was wondering about the possibility of something like several 20-30 minute pumpings separated by 20 minute breaks. I know every person’s body is different, but I was curious what others have done.

The edema is only one of your concerns with long-term pumping. I found a lot of intensely painful skin irritation. I’d love for long-term pumping to work, but I never found it sustainable.

I’ve worked up to 30 minute sessions at 5"Hg. I can wait two hours and do another session with only a trace of edema. A third session requires a wait of three or four hours to avoid edema.

I may be not have been paying enough attention to the edema issue. I always have had more softness and fatness after pumping, but I thought that was acceptable. Where I have been panicking was when the donut appears.

I have been using about 25-30 kPa which is 7-9 inHg, but the program probably only holds that vacuum for about one minute and then releases and repeats. There is another program that releases as soon as it reaches the target vacuum, and I sometimes use 40 kPa or 12 inHg for that.

Do you use a restrictor ring after you pump?

I am not very experienced with the pump even though I have used it a few times over the past year.

I noticed some sores last night after my pumping. They were pretty obvious purple pricks, but I don’t know if they were already present and merely accentuated by the pump or actually created by the pump. I think they were probably spots where hair had been caught in my extender or something. One of the sores I had been aware of and definitely was only highlighted by the pump. The others were probably there too but had gone unnoticed because they were on the other side of the penis that is harder to see. The pump definitely made them more painful and obvious.

I prefer not to pump until I get edema. Some guys pump specifically to get it.

Sometimes. If I’m going to edge afterward, yes. Otherwise, usually not.

Mostly, don’t be in a hurry.
Too much vac or time is not productive. IMHO.
