Is This Enough PE To Get Improvements?

I do manual sets and then 3 -4 sets of 20 min 10 lbs SD and BTC with a hanger. And then an hour or 2 with a stretcher. When I had the time, I used to do 8+ hours with a stretcher after manual stretching and saw significant gains. I feel fatigued after the hanging while using the stretcher, which would have taken 6-7 hours before hanging. Will this current routine get me good gains?

Hey grunt.

That’s pretty involved, if it doesn’t wear your shit out beyond use, you should be fine. Far as good gains, everyone is different. It either works for you, or it doesn’t. Too much for one is sometimes not enough for another. You’re probably doing more than you need, which can be bad in its own ways, by hardening your tissue. Gains are hard to come by after that.

I’d back off a step or two, and wait for gains to plateau, with either the hanger or stretcher, not both. When one stops working for a month or so, decon, then use the other. Over-working does absolutely no good. It’s not a sprint.

I have been PEing 5-6 years on and off. I have always done very strenuous manual stretching, and extreme extender sessions for 8+ hours a day. But don’t have the time for extender that long now. Just started hanging, and wondering if it would do anything or if there would be a point to do an hour or 2 of extending afterwards. Or would the fatigue from the hanging help the extending?

In that case, I would definitely pick one, and run with it. Hanging, seems to be the most opted method. I’ve been looking into it myself. Have you read 5.5squared’s thread?

Be it extension, hanging, or pumping; if you’re reaching tissue exhaustion, there’s no use in more. It will just cause useless tissue hardening, and more of your time. You’ve already worn the tissue out. When it’s fatigued, it’s fatigued. Nothing more to be had. Wait for recovery and do it again. Stacking doesn’t seem, based on what I’ve experienced myself and read, to be any faster.

Do the one, until it doesn’t do anymore, then switch.

Remember to use heat. My best guess is that heat is 200% as efficient. Ie. exercising with heat for 1 hour gives you the same results as doing without for 2 hours.
Until I started using heat it was nearly impossible for me to gain anything or at least very very hard.
Probably because my girth and pretty strong cellular “something” (i nearly never get strains or fatigue injuries even though I sometimes endurance exercise pretty intense ie. something which normally would hurt other people).
First stretch or hang with heat 15-30 minutes. Then after heating you remove the heat for around the same amount of time while cooling down while stretching/hanging.
