Post a pic of your gauge. There is a slight chance that your gauge measures kpa instead of inHg, or even something else. Typically the unit of measurment will be posted near the bottom of the gauge close to the needle post.
Another way to determine what your gauge measures is to look at the largest value on the gauge scale. If the unit of measurement is:
inHg the scale will be 0 to -30.
mmHg the scale will be 0 to -760
kpa the scale is 0 to -100
As vacuum is the absence of pressure, the measurement is negative. We generally ignore the negative in our discussions here.
