New here. Questions on jelqs, X4 extender, and supplements

Hi all,

First post. Appreciate the info and people here.

1.) Jelqing. Never done this til this week. I have seen the beginner routine and the videos on this site, and it looks like the guy is shaking because he’s squeezing so hard. I tried doing a hard squeeze and felt a sharp twinge in the head and stopped. The next day I tried softer grip but don’t really understand the pressure needed or what its supposed to feel like to know I’m doing it right.

Additionally, and maybe this is just a newbie thing, but you all talk about 40-70% erection for jelqs. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a partial erection in my life lol. Maybe on the come down from a normal erection it will be a partial for a while, but that isn’t something I can maintain. I try a few jelqs, and even if it’s a tight enough grip to be uncomfortable (I.e., not pleasurable at all) it still shoots right to a full erection. Then I have to read something unrelated for a few minutes waiting for it to reduce. Rinse and repeat over and over. Its making a single jelq session take such a long time that I feel like I’m living in the bathroom this week. Maybe an unanswerable question, but how are you maintaining a partial erection for a session? Seems biologically impossible!

2.) I bought an X4 Labs extender many years ago but never had a chance to really try it out. Now that I work from home this year, even with others in the house, I finally started trying the X4 as I can use it straight up or straight down discretely while at a standing desk. Putting it on is quite annoying, and of course I can only find videos of it being used on non-stretchy phallic objects which is not at all helpful. Getting things stretched to reach strap area and then strapping it in seems to require 3 hands. If I shorten the rods to make it much easier to strap in, then even when fully extended with the tension bars twisted out and base screws extended it doesn’t really create a stretch. I seem to be right in the middle.

I have gotten it on every day for the past week (with some high annoyance) and am hoping it is seating right. I would welcome any tips on that for people who use these. Additionally, I have not found a consensus online about how much time in the extender is required for any gains. There are comments about “as much as possible” as its total time in the extender that helps, but if I only have 2-3 hours a day for this, is that enough to even bother? Lastly, When you all talk about rest days for jelqing, would that apply to extender use too, or just the manual exercises?

3.) Less urgent question. I have been doing research on testosterone improving supplements, mostly for energy, pain reduction, vascularity improvements and workout endurance. I don’t take any other medications and doubt my testosterone levels are low. I imagine testosterone supporting supplements can only help with PE but wanted to see what others experience has been with this. Any downsides or problems with these types of supplements you have found in this process?

I am a newbie myself, but I have tried jelqing a couple years ago. I was also getting fully erected while jelqing at first, but later I got used to the sensation and was able to hold about 50-70% erection. It just takes time to get used to.

About the extender they say its the total time that matters, so if you use it 6 hours for 1 day its the same effect as using it 3 hours for 2 days.

I would say 2-3 hours is reasonable if you do it consistently.

As far as I understand, an extender is not really the same as stretching, its about having a constant pulling (traction) on your penis. About 400-1200g traction is recommended for the first few months. For that the springs in the extender don’t have to compress much. Try putting the extender on a kitchen scale and push down on it, you ill see that a couple mm is enough for that amount of traction.

Hey MinerX,
Jelqing can be super simple, or super complicated. Don’t overthink it. Some, find their perfect jelq, some don’t. The size difference between completely soft and fully erect is a percentage between the two. Completely unnaroused is 0. You have to judge. Erect jelqs are somewhat risky. If you don’t know the difference, jelq soft.
You can’t go from one to the other instantaneously. Ever had a chubby? That’s the right spot.

When you form your grip on your soft penis and your penis gets bigger, is not an erection, it’s blood being trapped by your grip.

How tight? Tight enough to feel blood moving through the shaft, but not so tight that you feel like you’re gonna explode. The head, not cum. If you’re gonna cum, get it over with, and then continue the exercise.

Can’t comment on the extender or T therapy and it’s side effects. Sorry.

Its not a “soft bigger”, I really do go from 0 to rock in like 5 seconds like I’m still a teenager. Never really thought about it before until trying the jelqs and seeing how frustrating that is for this one activity.
Trapped by the grip. I’ll have to look into this more. As I do one jelq the pressure builds by the end of it, but as I go second hand to start a new grip it seems like “start over” each time, as soon as the grip passes a spot on the shaft from hand one, it seems like the blood fully exits, and when the 2nd hand starts it feels the same as the original first hand start. If that makes sense, putting physical actions into words is hard, especially when you don’t fully know what you’re trying to say!

It also seems like the skin starts bunching up near the head on each jelq (I am circumcized), unless I hold the skin more taught at the base with 2nd hand. Is that normal even with wet jelqs? If I try it dry, I can feel the blood moving better as I basically am stationary on one part of the skin and stretching the skin as I jelq without sliding up the shaft. Don’t know if that’s “wrong” either, but when doing wet ones, I definitely am forced to slide up the shaft over the skin, but it still bunches near the head.

These are the least clear sentences I’ve ever written, I hope they make enough sense to interpret!

I never got hard that fast, not saying it isn’t possible.

If I’m reading it right, that’s normal. The idea is to recreate the expansion and move it. Going from normal to abnormal, over and over with each stroke. Not necessarily keep it from stroke to stroke.

I’m also circ’d. Skin pull is also normal. I have to reset every third or fourth to keep the skin at the base. Wet or dry.

If you’re wet jelqing and it’s a quality lube, use your off hand to hold the skin back while the on hand jelqs. The kegel and switch grips during the hold.

I’ve always dry jelqed with just one hand and kegels alone. Skin is truly the limit there.

Thanks that’s encouraging, hopefully as I continue trying it will become desensitized to the process and allow a 50%.

The X4 has 3 lines on the spring arms to show how much tension is being applied. I start at 1/2. After 30 minutes can progress to the first line, and after an hour I can push it to 1.5 line at most, beyond that, it cannot stretch further without the screws coming out of the base or out of the spring arms. Also the head gets pretty purple beyond that since I really have to cinch the strap down to avoid slipping out.

But I can’t use longer bars because I can’t even strap it in if the device is natively any longer at the start. I’ll check the pressure on a kitchen scale that’s a good idea!

Thank you, this is all very helpful.

Does the manual say how much traction is each line? If not you can test it with the kitchen scale as I mentioned before.
For my extender the first line is 1200g traction witch is already more than people recommend. Search the forum about that and you will see that most people say that best is between 400-900g and you should only go above that once you stop gaining. Some even say that 1200g or more actually prevents you from gaining as its too much stress for your penis.
The manual for my extender recommends starting with 900-1200g and increasing the hours every week and then reaching 2000g traction after a few weeks.
As most of PE the info on this is not 100% hard science, so you will have to decide whose advice you will take. But I reckon its best to start with low traction and only increasing it after a month or two or 100+ hours if you don’t see any gains.
BTW make sure to take a break at least every hour to get the circulation back. I don’t think purple/blue glans are good for you, apparently you can get nerve damage from that.

Thanks. I don’t have the manual anymore (bought this like 12 years ago) and can’t find one anywhere online. So I don’t actually know the tension line amounts but would love to know. I’ll post separately in the extender forum.

I have started taking it off every half hour now to avoid the purple.

Oop, I lied, I cannot post in the extender forum yet!
