Oil based lubricants

Hi there, I’m new to this forum so don’t slate me if I’ve got this thread in the wrong section!

I’ve performed the newbie routine once and I used an oil based lubricant. It felt odd (but nice) as I’d never used a lubricant before. Although I felt it a little hard to clean off in the shower. It even had the oily feeling and texture for most of the week.

My question is: how do you clean oil based lubricants off your penis? As they are oil based they expel water and as the penis is sensitive I’m not comfortable giving it a good go with soap.

Any suggestions?

The only thing that really works to get the oil off are soaps that specifically remove oil. I’m sure guys are going to spout off on me for this, but I’ve found soaps used by mechanics to work best. There is a product made by Gojo that has a nice orange scent to it that works well. You have to be careful with these products though - You can either get a product that is gritty, and smells nice, or a product that isn’t gritty, but has dangerous chemicals like varsol in it.

I use the Gojo orange gently and it removes the oily residue from your skin. You can also stop using petroleum based lubes, but they don’t last as long. A girl I dated for a while could taste the vaseline on my cock two days after I’d last used it, and nearly two showers after I’d last used it. This stuff definitely stays there, whether you realize it or not.

In general oil based lubricants are probably not a good thing, as you mention getting rid of the oil is a problem.

It would help if you let us know what the lubricant is. As we might give it a cautious yes. or a definite No No.

Vaseline is commonly used but is difficult to remove except the White vaseline which is a much lighter oil and washes off more easily.

I’m a big fan of using Coco butter, it’s good for your skin and works great.

I agree that the oil based lubes can be a little hard to get along with. I really like using coccoa butter lotion. It works great, smells good, is good for your skin and I can get a HUGE bottle for less than 2 bucks!

Water based lub’s are my preference, you can get many different ones, the tingly ones the best, plus they wash off completely in 2secs.

I would prefer to use water based lubricants then. Any recommendations?

And as an aside: why do people use oils (eg baby lotion) for their skin anyway, it just leaves it feeling greasy?

I’ve been using oil based as well, and it is quite the pain. I wash it off with soap, but that’s a pain too. Thanks for your post and thanks to everyone for these suggestions — I think I might try some other stuff.

I’ve used a water based lube before — just some standard KY Jelly. (But as Scottish points out the tingly ones are probably best I can imagine how they’d help with jelqing.) It worked well. I switched to some baby oil, just to try it out, when the KY ran out. But I think I’ll try the KY again along with that cocoa butter idea.

*Albolene* is the #1 jelq / masturbation lube - period. It’s a facial cleanser that can be found at drugstores like CVS. It feels kind of like whipped Vaseline. Just a dab and you can jelq or masturbate for an hour without having to reapply. It does take soap to clean off but honestly, some can stay on since it is a moisturizer. The vat cost about $12 US but will last about a year even with heavy use. Wonderful stuff.

I use a cheap vitamin E based oil that seems to be mostly safflower oil I buy it at a drug store chain called Rite Aid, K-mart also used to have one also. The non oil ones are just too expensive for me, the oil base ones like this one are a very light oil that cleans up easy and last a long time, A 3 dollar bottle will last me about three months.

You might try having a look at your supermarkets skin oils etc section - where you buy shaving creams, hair creams etc. A moisterising agent will normally do for you, but try it in the small containers first as sometimes they are a bit dry. check the inf#gredients and see what the oil is -normally vegetable .

Durex is my No.1, as it comes in all diferent sensations. I always wonder the same regarding oil based products, there not for me.

Petitefaun: by dry do you mean it leaves the skin dry after usage or that it simply doesn’t lubricate well enough?

By dry I meant they wern’t much iin the way of moisterisers, and they are absorbed by the skin.

As another thought try saliva. It is absorbed very quickly into the skin and leaves it smoother (try it on the back of your hand!

(But you need to wash it off as it does contain digestive enzymes which could cause peculiar odours :D )

I ask this as I want to be very outwardly discreet about PEing.
