Wow someone even mentioned garlic. I’ll chime in, but this is heathly lifestyle, not just PE lifestyle. ;) At least in theory.
12 months ago I got quick sick and I’m only young at 25. I could see a downward spiral that would get worse and worse and worse. I had skin problems, fatigue, pains in the stomach after every meal, irregular sleep, hard time recovering from any sicknesses and other general signs of bad health. I knew it would only get worse unless I did something about it.
So slowly but surely I started doing more and more things. My skin isn’t 100% but it’s getting there, and when I’m talking about “getting there” I’m talking about being the healthiest I’ve ever been in my life. Because from day 1 it was never really taught to me how to do it, I guess my parents were lazy or something, so I had to learn the hard way. You could say that this topic is about PE not overall health but it seems they overlap. A fit healthy body = a healthy penis. A healthy penis = more willing to grow (or so we hope.)
It started off slow with eating habits and things like that. I was too sick to exercise. If I would exercise and get sweaty my skin would become red and itchy so it was like going around in circles. 3 or 4 months ago I was able to exercise again and coincidently I also started my PE at this time. I am still learning more and more, it’s a never ending process. But I think I now have a good knowledge base for things going foward. This is what I’m currently doing at the moment.
Weights (2-3 sessions per week)
Cardio (2-4 sessiosn per week)
Drinking LOTS of water per day (this helps with PE I think)
4-6 smaller meals per day
Eating occasional bad foods (I think you are torturing yourself if you live life without some of these pleasures, as long as it’s in a good balance)
Supplements like Zinc, Cod liver oil or fish oil
Limitation of alcohol (once per week and avoiding big hang overs)
Limitation of caffene (one glass of coke occasionally, no coffee)
Eating a wide variety of proteins (chicken, fish, beef, eggs, nuts or peanut butter, etc)
Trying to avoid saturated fats (this has been one of the hardest so far because it overlaps with good protein/iron sources)
Avoiding refined sugars or starchy carbs like white rice or white bread or potato (have them occasionally)
Having probiotics (yoghurt) a few times a week.
Including garlic in the diet as much as possible, sometimes eating raw like the guys above were talking about. (did this alot in the early days)
Including cayenne pepper in diet as much as possible
Trying to get as much fibre as possible
Trying to get antioxidants from as many sources as possible, fruits, berries, brochilli etc
In the last few months have started drinking green tea (drinking it right now :D )
Increasing amount of vegetables per day (trying to find the nutrient rich ones)
The only thing I haven’t done yet is quit smoking. I plan to soon. I think if you take a few of these things it’s not a big deal. But when you add up the sum of all parts, it can make a big difference for you. How you feel when you wake up, how you look.. everything. And while this doesn’t help PE per se, it can’t hurt can it. I believe it has helped though. Especially in blood circulation, tissue repair and things like that. Speaking of that, in the last few months cuts, scrapes and scars on my knees (and other places) have reopened from years and years ago. And rehealed again. Strange. I think my resting heart rate has gone from 70-75 bpm, to 50-55 bpm since September to now.
The things I would like to try in future are some of the things mentioned on the forum like pomegranate juice. And a glass of red wine a day sounds interesting.
To give you a comparison this is what I used to be like before.
Little daily exercise.
Sometimes only 1 or 2 meals per day, sometimes supplementing snacks for a meal (like chips)
Lots of alcohol
Lots of Coke Cola
Lots of junk food (KFC, Pizza Hut etc)
Lots of frozen meals that either had alot of white bread or sugar
No fibre
Very little water other then what is in other drinks like Coke
Lots of protein but not much vegatables (lots of white potato not much else)
The key thing, ate things that tasted good rather then what was good fuel for my body.
Like Tossed Salad, I think PE has a great effect on you in alot of ways. It keeps you motivated and makes you feel good, and makes you want to improve your whole package, not just the package inside your pants. And the discipline it requires in order to gain, seems to rub off on other parts of your life, and that helps alot. I really think it helps especially with weight training and motivating you to do it. Some people complain of “When I manual stretch my arms hurt?”, you can look at that as a negative. Or you can look at it as a positive in that it will make your arms stronger. ;)
Sorry for the long post.
