PE Rest Coincides with Skeletal Muscle Rest

PE Rest Coincides with Skeletal Muscle Rest

Just an inquiry, not sure if it’s been asked yet.

I’ve been reading the forums and rest times definitely vary from person to person. Some day 2 days on, 1 day off and repeat. Others can go 5 days a week, while some alternate between 1 day off and 1 day on.

For those of us that lift weights/bodybuild, we know our skeletal muscle fairly well and can tell how well we heal after a solid workout. I know some guys that can workout for 5 days straight in the gym and grow, while others stick to a 3 day-split per week and make great gains because they need more rest.

Would you think a person who takes longer to recover after a workout for skeletal muscle, also should take more rest days in between PE sessions?

Possibly, but muscles themselves don’t need extra rest. If you train your muscles with increasing frequency, you will eventually get used to it and your muscles will adapt. CNS will be depleted though, but the muscle itself will be able to handle being trained very frequently. For example, I have huge legs from playing soccer and doing sprinting. Most of the mass came from soccer and running every day. I would get progressively slower if I didn’t rest due to CNS fatigue but my leg muscles still built up.

Luckily, PE doesn’t fatigue the CNS.. However, muscle recovery is largely adaptation and not genetics. The distance runner does not necessarily have better muscle recovery genetics than the sprinter, but the distance runner would most likely recover faster after physical activity

I try not to get too involved in figuring out the science of PE. It works, and that’s good enough for me.

Awesome.

That makes a lot of sense, didn’t think about CNS exhaustion.

I might be overthinking this. But considering you are building the ‘muscles’ in the penis through PE, and growing muscles need nutrition, would it make sense to improve diet? Improving diet overall is good regardless, but for the the sake of PE what do you all think? I’ve always heard supplementing zinc is great.

Anything that improves bloodflow down south can only help. I’ve often wondered how adequate protein and fat intake affects PE myself, with protein being so vital to tissue repair and fat for hormonal balance.

PE has really little to nothing in common with building muscles.

Interesting. I remember reading that there are better frequencies of lifting for certain body types. If you are a skinny, lanky kind of guy I read that 3 weight lifting workouts a day are very beneficial compared to 5 day a week workouts. However I don’t know if this corresponds to PE.

Start 8/24 - BPEL: 6, EG: 5 | Goal - BPEL: 8, EG: 6

Yea, I only ask because I’ve been weight lifting for years, altered my routine many times and became quite knowledgeable in the ways of building skeletal muscle and nutrition.

Was very curious to see if any of this can be transferred to PE sessions and if it corresponds at all. Hugh made a great point as weight lifting also exhausts your CNS which is correct, so recovery from PE should be much faster because it doesn’t.
