phimosis

Hi guys

Since starting PE about a year ago I have developed a turkey neck, which I am not overly worried about.

But I have discovered that I have phimosis from reading and watching on here.

I am now booked in for surgery to have a dorsal slit as circumcision is not for me.

If anybody has any questions let me know and I will keep you updated on my journey.

Have you heard of, or tried, other, non-surgical methods of correcting this, such as stretching exercises with topical medications?

But seriously I have never heard of the condition until coming on here.

I have had my first inital appointment with a Consultant at the Hospital which went okay.

I tried stretching for a number of months but did not find this to work, and had no effect.

This proceeded onto steroid cream on prescription from my GP, as this is ment to thin the skin

These are the very first inital steps to be taken, and any decent GP / Dr should recommend these first.

After these steps failed I was referred to the Hospital.

As it was extremely painful to have intercourse and if my foreskin was pulled back to far I could not get it back over the head.

The Consultant had a look and said that Phimosis was a correct

If I was under 15 then it would be a 100% success rate, but anybody over 15 it only has a 50% sucess rate.

Circumcision is not an option for me, and if this doesnt work I will just live with my condition.

The operation is done with me under general anesthtic and I am not allowed to eat on the day of the operation.

They will pull the foreskin back and make 3 slits which are then sealed using a glue not stitches.

There will be some pain but not as much as the other option and after about 3 weeks the glue will disappear and I will be able to have intercourse and restart PE.

The only problem I can see is not being able to do any PE for 3 weeks, will just have to make sure I do lots up until the big day.

I had this condition but managed to slowly retract the foreskin over my glans by applying betamethasone steroid cream and stretching my foreskin. It took me a few weeks for the foreskin to be able to retract over the glans.I found that stretching in a hot bath helped.

I know stretching didn’t work for you but I thought I would just let you know anyway.

Do not get circumcised, search the net and this forum I have a thread about it, I had it very minor, I used steroid cream and manual stretches to avoid a plasty.

Post a picture so we could see, one flaccid and one erect, pull the foreskin back on the flaccid, and pull the foreskin back as much as possible on the erect, I will be able to tell you if it looks like you have any chance of doing it without circ.

A dorsal slit and circumcision are 2 different things,

Do NOT have a dorsal slit. I couldn’t quite make out which type of incision you described but a dorsal slit basically means that they will make a long incision right through your foreskin which will result in all your foreskin hanging under your penis like “dog ears”. There’s really no point at all in performing such an operation. [

I had a problem with phimosis as well which wasn’t relieved by the steroid cream application method. I decided to go with some sort of surgical “fix”. At the time I read up on an incision called ‘Preputioplasty’ [ which seemed the easiest way to go about it. This may be the one that you’ve opted for since according to wiki it is also known as “limited dorsal slit with transverse closure”. Problem was the doctor told me that it proably wouldn’t be very effective in my case (I don’t remember exactly what they said, I believe it was something about there being a great risk of the phimosis returning). This was 1 year ago.

Instead they recommended a partial circumcision (which I was skeptical against at first). I decided to go through with it anyway and I’m mostly happy about the results. I haven’t had any problems with phimosis for almost a year now, I almost don’t remember what it was like when I had it. There were a few side effects though, the stitches that went all the way around the “foreskin ring” loosened a bit prematurely on one side of my foreskin which resulted in the foreskin not healing as well on that side, giving it a slightly more “sloppy” appearance. This didn’t bother me very much at the time and that was probably why I never went back for a check-up. I imagined the only way to fix it was to make another partial circumcision, this time letting it heal perfectly. This blemish is only visible when my penis is flaccid anyway and I reckon it has healed a bit more with time.

Another side effect was that I got the classic reddish skin hue on the part of the penis in front of the ‘circumcision line’ whilst erect. Sorry, but I don’t know to explain it better, hopefully you understand. Matter fact, here’s a picture: (WARNING: PENIS! (Not mine obviously) :P). The only other adverse effect was that maybe only a few weeks after my partial circumcision I got, what I’m 90 % sure was, a thrombosed vein. However this was most likely the result of me doing a “bed fowfer” and falling asleep in a to the penis harmful position (stupid).

This post became quite long, hopefully you don’t mind, but it almost served as “internet therapy” for me. I haven’t written anything about the results of my partial circumcison, I wrote a few posts when I was about to have it. Just remember, the decision is all yours but when it comes to something like this it’s extremely important to know about all your options.

P.S. When they performed the incision they cut right through that big vein that usually goes from the base of your penis right to the tip of the foreskin. I was afraid that it would worsen the blood flow through my penis but when it healed that vein just “re-routed” to the right side of my foreskin. Hopefully no harm was done, which I yet have any strong reason to believe. D.S.

Well I had my operation on Thursday.

I had a Preputioplasty. I could not eat after 8am, and was only allowed to drink clear water up until 11.00am.

Arrived at the hospital with my mrs as not allowed to drive under general anesthtic.

The Surgeon came round and had a look, she tried to persuade me to got for a circumcision not a chance I replied.

Had my pre operation medicine, waited as I was 3rd on the list and then was called up.

Walked to the operation room, needle in the back of my hand and a cold fluid was injected. They gave me gas as well during the same time.

Next thing I remember was waking up in the recovery room. Oh my word felt like I had been hit by a brick.

The operation only took 20 minutes, it was longer in the recovery room. Took me about an hour or two to get my head sorted. Was offered a cup of tea and some cheese and crackers.

The cold fluid in the hand hurt the most. Was precribed co-codamol and vaseline jelly, the after care is the critical factor as there is a danger of bleeding or infection.

Driven home by my Mrs as not allowed to drive for 48 hours, give a 1 week sick certificate form and not allowed to exercise for 2 weeks. Not allowed to have sex or wank for about 3 weeks.

The first day home I was really woosy so only had water and biscuits plus slept loads. The second day I needed to go for a wee, if you have this done make sure you wee slowly as wow that hurt. Dont use full force not during the first 2 days.

The second day I drank only water and had fruit. In the evening I attempted my first luke warm bath but didnt use soap or scrub sort of just sat in it. That didnt hurt but it did when i had to apply the vaseline to my foreskin. I was only caught by my Mrs thankfully.

The stichtes will disolve but they dry out after a bath or shower so need to be looked after.

Today is the 3rd day, I have been up as normal had a shower but didnt wash round there. Used water to rinse round there whilst covering my delicate area. Not really much pain but I am nto walking around a lot due to not wanting it to rub. Plus I am only in boxers to get los of air to it.

I did peak a look and nearly passed out after seeing what they did as I am squemish. If anybody has any questions feel free to ask.

I have phimosis, I have had it all my life.

I have been stretching it for a couple of months and for the 1st time in my life this month I have been able to see my full glans :)
But only when flaccid, when erect I think I have about 6 months of every day stretching to go and a much wider area as there is a tight band but the rest of the skin also needs to stretch too as to not squeeze things tight at the top of my shaft which is considerably wider than the glans.

It is a strange experience right now, I am so unfamiliar with something every other guy is familiar with, it is very very sensitive, like touching your eyeball but worse actually.

When I try to uncover below the glans I notice the skin is attached to the ridge right underneath the glans in little sections, is this normal? I see in a lot of pictures most guys can pull it back so the actual shaft is exposed, but I can’t and not sure if this is normal?

Yes I too have this problem and I also wonder if this is normal , it’s very hard to live with as it makes sex very uncomfortable,

I don’t have any problems with sex, worst case scenario I have to use the devils lube(spit).

I had phimosis as well, but can honestly say I don’t have it anymore, due to about 2.5 years of stretching exercises. Just a couple of months of stretching is not enough. You can have the surgery, but I would much rather avoid surgery and take more time to do the stretching.

I can now uncover the glans fully, both when flaccid and during intercourse. Intercourse used to be painful, but is now much more pleasurable.

This is the main stretch I used to get cured PHIMOSIS and this page also has information about other stretching exercises.

Thats my main stretch too.

2.5 years sounds like a lot for phimosis, was yours severe? Or is there diminishing returns as you progress?

I am considering using a topical steroid cream but last time I tried all it did was give me varicose veins where I applied it.
