How many jelqs is 10 minutes supposed to be? I mean what is the standard number of jelqing for a beginning newbie? 100 or 200?

I have been going by time for a couple months now but I don’t think it is very effective. I lose my erection sometimes and have to pause to get it back up and that gets me off track as to how much time I have been really jelqing. So I figured just going by number would be best.. Advice?

I usually do 200 x 2 sec strokes. I have to stop every now and then to regain firmness too, (but since I do the “Cheeva-style” hardly any erection is needed).

And yes I think it’s better to go by the count rather by the clock.

I don’t usually count the number of repetitions. I just make sure that I do a single jelq in a span of 3-5 seconds and just repeat it until I consume the 10 minutes recommended for newbies. It’s more effective in my case.

I don’t think 10 minutes is supposed to be a specific number. I count as I sometimes have to adjust erection level or some other interruption and just find it easier. 200 jelqs is way too much for a newbie in my opinion. I started at 100, but decided to drop down to like 60 and work my way up linearly. If I were you I would do the same. Start low and see how that feels, how your penis reacts to it. If you get positive PIs then continue. If you don’t get much of a reaction then step it up.

Ye I agree with chande11 especially if its been a couple months and you haven’t seen any improvement. I found out the hard way and lost a couple years because I was convinced that I would have to beat my piece stupidly if it was going to grow. This has worked for I think most of the people on this forum and I almost felt I was cheating by taking it so slowly. For the last month and a bit I have been doing 5mins gentle stretching and 25jelqs 2days on one off and my piece is hanging lower after sessions for a few hours which is one of the things everyone always seemed to mention but never happened with me until I slowed it down. I think that I set my dick to defense mode by attacking it so harshly straight away and by taking it slow I am tempting it into growing. Fingers crossed for when I measure it in another month! You should also try to increase the number of jelqs by 5-10 every 8 or so sessions but when I have done this it seems to lean towards negative PIs so personally Im increasing it by 5 every 10 sessions.

Bennie169, did you gain anything at all during those “Wasted” years?? Did you see quicker gains when you decreased the number of jelqs?

Well no, not any noticeable gains- granted I may have measured wrong at the start but I no for a fact I have not made a solid gain of more than 1cm BPEL. Girth has changed by .2 or so of an inch towards the tip- I know this because I have a slight baseball bat shape now which is no biggie but shows that obviously I gained something in that department but what you can probably tell is that I didn’t take the scientific side of it seriously enough. I thought after reading a couple of success stories that I would easily be able to see the gains I made but it never happened because I personally think I went too hard too soon and maybe conditioned my dick faster than normal.

I recommend that you read as much as you can on the forum- the success stories and the failures because chances are that the failures occured a while ago so if you message them then they may be able to offer more advice. Even if you see an exercise that gave this one guy amazing gains in only one month or something like that, keep an open mind but read around it before you attempt it. Whatever you read, defo start off slow- read up on the linear routine as thats what Im starting to follow and it has produced results for some people with a lot less effort. This approach might also help to reduce frustration and increase the enjoyment because PE should not take over your life in my personal view. That was another mistake I made because the things I tried weren’t working I’d get frustrated and believe I wasn’t working hard enough so I’d increase jelqs, stretches, hang or clamp but the chances are I was working too hard and my piece was reacting defensively to the stress and tightening the collagen fibres (so one theory goes).

Its all about finding what works for you- even if it is another persons routine but just toned down. Read through the linear routine though, thats a definite. Make sure you take a few measurements first and average it so that you’ve got as accurate a reading as possible- length and girth. Take pictures as well if possible because it is likely you will see a positive change and if you have something to compare it to then it gives you that little extra motivation to continue. And never forget what soooo many people on here continue to repeat - its a marathon, not a sprint so take your time with it and you will get the gains you want.
