Hello,
Well let us look at this from a few vantage points and you can come to a sound judgement for yourself. We’ll have to look at your comfort level, your economics, and your handiness. Once these things are weighed out you can use some objective criteria of what may be right for your situation.
http://www.bibh … m/pictures2.htm This is the difference in the two production Bib hangers, known as the larger regular and shorter starter.
From the inventor/manufacturer’s site you have his own words describing everything himself.
Product Compatibility
The BibHanger is approximately 2¾ inches in length and works best for men with at least 6 inches erect length* and 5 inches erect girth*. The Bib Starter is about one inch shorter than the BibHanger and is recommended for men who have at least 3.5 inches erect length* and 3.5 inches erect girth*. The Starter can accommodate a maximum erect girth* of approximately 6.5 inches. There are no limits on erect length. The BibHanger can accommodate a maximum erect girth* of approximately 8 inches. There are no limits on erect length.
You seem to be fine girth wise for really either model. Where any possible point of difficulty would be on your length. The real question is in Bib’s own words are the measurements in BP or NBP? I would say they are NBP just to be on the safe side. Better to err with caution. If anyone knows the EXACT measurements are BP or NBP please yell out in this thread.
Now the Wench by Cappy is a decent product which some people seem to really like. Other homemade hangers can be found here. The only problem with homemade hangers is you have to make them. If you suck at arts and crafts with your hands this might not be the route for you. But the cost factor is its great advantage. Here are how to build the homebrew systems here: Homemade Hanger Models and Instructions
So I would look everything over really. If you can afford it, both production hangers rock really. You could use one till you completely outgrow it and jump to the next. In the event you break one, you can quickly jump to another like that. However that is like $200 bucks for both and too rich for most people’s blood.
You could make a homebrew unit for next to nothing and see where that goes. That way you could get to the required 6" length and then look at the possibility of moving up to a production hanger.
If you hang exclusively, the possibility of you not needing a regular model may be happening. The starter seems to have a limit of girth really, but girth is usually hard to get, plus not as easy to come by with pure hanging really. There was a few lengthy fellows that preferred the starter model for how it bites on the shaft and the ease of use. So everything is somewhat gray.
So, in conclusion, factor in your money, time, and skills at building/replicating with detailed plans. That way you can see what you need to really do.
Good luck.
