Sore skin hair problem

Hey fellow PEers ( no pun intended )!

I have a hair problem with hair growing fairly high up my shaft. I usually shave this hair away to be able to jelq better, and of course it look better aesthetically. My skin gets really sore about one day after shaving ( sometimes even less ), when the hairs start growing back out again. The skin around the area is extremely touch sensitive and I wonder if any of you have had similar problems, and how you’ve solved them? Is it possible to get the hair away with some wax product or something similar? I’m currently a student and I’m running on a very low budget, so I can’t afford any laser hair removal procedures. I too get hair fairly up my shaft, not sure how common that is. For starters what method do you use to shave this? Maybe it has something to do with your method of shaving. I suffer terribly from shaving rash when i remove any hair around my member, but not actually from it. i.e. shaving my ball sack and my member is fine, but if i try to touch any hair beyond this a shaving rash is sure to ensue.

I use a normal Gillette shaver with shaving foam. I first tried to shave in the same direction the hair grows to minimize irritation, but since this didn’t cut the hairs short enough I started shaving against the hair. This obviously causes more irritation, and the actual shaving process already feels kind of uncomfortable, with small micro cuts here and there. I shave my ball sack too, but have no problems with itching or soreness there whatsoever. Stays silk smooth for several days.

I find shaving in the shower, after warming up the area i desire to shave for about 2 - 3 minutes, and when I’m actually shaving it I pull out the skin as taught as i possibly can. Then after shaving I run a nice cool stream of water onto my member (sure it shrinks temporarily but it seems to stop shaving rash to some degree). Or another option which is cheap, but kind of time consuming is plucking.

You can pluck the hair around and on the base of your shaft with relative ease, this also gives a lasting effect. There are plenty of posts about plucking the pubic hair which you can find using the search bar (I am not fully competent with linking yet sorry). I have tried plucking but found it a tiny bit time consuming. It is relatively painless, and any pain you do feel you will quickly get over. Give it a shot.
