That’s a pretty long time between shots. If you start having down days before your next injection you should encourage your doctor to increase the injection frequency. It’s kinda crazy that doctors would prescribe something with an 8 day half life with 14 days between shots

Certainly, testosterone treatment has great benefits as far as quality of life. However, remember TRT has a huge impact on fertility. You are basically replacing your natural ability to produce testosterone by exogenous injections. It will shut down your body further.

The reason why I asked you age is because your initial low T might be related to nutrition, but an MD has zero knowledge or scientific training about that.

I wouldn’t say that I had ED. I could still get an erection, but I lacked drive. Use it or lose it! I’m 44 years old.

Two weeks seems to be the standard; that’s what my prescription says. The endocrinologist didn’t give me any hassle when I said I’d prefer to do the shots myself; being a ‘problem patient’, I’d researched the mrf, found out about the 8-day half-life, and I’ve done the shots weekly from the beginning.

I think the *why* of two weeks when the med’s data sheet clearly says that’s not optimal is due to insurance coverage. Some largeish percentage of men won’t want to stick themselves with a needle; if the doc doesn’t want to prescribe an implant or topical, then the patient will have to go to the doctor’s office every week instead of every two weeks, and the insurance company doesn’t want to be billed for that. Also, most men would have to take some time off work every week to go to the doctor’s office; not many employers would put up with that.

The way I looked at it, if I could stick my finger in my eye to install a contact lens, sticking a needle in my leg should be easy. And it was.

I’m doing my shots myself.

The local pharmacy sells complete hypodermics, but they also sell needles separately. They only stock hypos with 22ga needles, which are about the size of a nail. But they sell 28ga needles separately for less than 50 cents. A 22 is crunchy when it goes in and I usually bleed afterward; I barely feel the 28.

The trick is to get the juice out of the vial with the big needle, then swap to the small one for the injection.

I ordered bulk needles from an online website. Got 18g for drawing and 25 for pinning. Feels similar to a mosquito bite going in
