Tape measure or ruler

Tape measure or ruler

Which do you think is more accurate when taking lenght measurements? A ruler or a tape measure?

Ruler for length, tape measure for girth.

We have discussed this a million times on this forum, but here it is once again:

Ruler for length.

Tape for girth.

The ruler will give you more consistent and accurate measurements of the length of your penis because you don’t run the risk of pulling the tape back too far, or stretching it differently.

Wishing and hoping for the best - yup your doing it wrong.

I use a ruler for length and a micrometer for girth.

I use a ruler for length, and a piece of paper for girth.

So for girth, I wrap a bit of paper around my member, and put a finger on where it ends, and then mark it with a pen and measure the length on the paper with a ruler.

So my girth stats could be 0.1” or 0.2” out either way, hehe.

Starting size: (April 1 2007) 5.95" BPEL x 4.65" EG. | Progress Thread (plus pics)

Now: (August 20 2007) 6.6" BPEL x 4.81" EG. Half way towards my goal! | Current Stats

Short term goal: (3-4 months) 6.8" BPEL, 5.0" EG.. Long term goal (1+ yr): 7.5" BPEL, 5.5" EG.

Notice on one of your previous posts you are a Boiler. Ditto here.

Not sure if you have scientific background but my question is related
related to the lenght of an arc vs straight line distance between the
beginning and end point of same arc.

If the shaft has upward (or downward for that matter)curve, using a ruler
would not measure true length unless you mash the shaft out so to speak.

This issue probably has been addressed before but a person with a fairly
pronounced arc could easily measure a 1/2 inch less if using ruler without
“flattening” out the shaft.

Does any of this make sense??

Absolutely it makes sense. The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line, end of story. Therefore, *if your dick has a profound curve*, then the ruler is going to make your dick shorter than it really is. A 20’ garden hose is 20’ long, even if it is strung out in a curve in order to miss a tree and measures only 18’ from faucet to nozzle.

On the other hand, if your 8” dick bends back on itself so much that in effect it is 4” long, then, in a very real way, it is 4” long. And the ruler allows you to push into the fad pad more consistently and eliminates error from that variable.

Therefore, taking all these things into consideration, and lacking a instrument that gives perfect results consistently, the collective wisdom of the group has become: ruler for length, tape for girth.

But, in my opinion, you had a good point.

Ddog.

Mar 2007 bpel: 8.25 eg 5.38

Shooting for 9 x 6 Ddog.

Suppose your dick had a profound curve and you were measuring NBP, would a tape be more accurate?

Lets say you did have an upward curve then wouldn’t measuring the underside (with tape) be longer that measuring on the top side. So if you were to use the tape method then you would need to set a standard for all that were using it to say, lets all measure the underside/topside.

I like to use the book method as I find a ruler tends to move around too much in my fat pad.

Tape measures have an accuracy flaw anyhow. I avoid using one for anything but rough measuring, if i can. I use a rule for length. If you are concerned about curve , I don’t see any reason why mild flattening to get better measurements would be a real problem. For girth, I use a piece of string and measure that with a ruler.

Yeah I always push against my upward curve when measuring myself for length, makes me feel better about myself.

Here’s the deal though. When you measure the volume of your penis, you should probably use a tape measure or something for length if you have a curve, or you would be way off, don’t you think?

Thanks for clarifying guys.
