The Proper Stretch

The Proper Stretch

I have read many posts regarding the different ways to stretch. In my searches I have read some contradicting views. I was wondering if some of the experts could cue in some of us Newbie’s who might be a bit uncertain. Some questions I have (which I’m sure at least a couple of other Newbie’s have) are as follows:

Is it proper to stretch with your grips an inch below the head? Because when this is done, in my case, the skin stretches more than the ligaments. Also, it is very hard to maintain the grips when not holding the head…and toilet paper grips hurt.
What directions should I pull in? I’ve heard circles, straight out, downward (most often), a mix of left right up and down, rotating it and the pulling….I have heard a lot of variations, but what seems to work best for length? And if it is a mixture, do you recommend one of each (up, down, left, right, straight out) or something along the lines of right, left, right left..etc. an alternating pattern?
Another thing is, that when you stretch, a lot of blood is trapped in, and becomes highly pressurized in the glans. Are you supposed to squeeze excess blood out or what?
In between stretches I have heard you are supposed to have as little break as possible, to a full minute off. I have heard of pulling blood into your penis by massaging and shaking, and i have heard of ridding your penis of blood for the stretch. Which is proper?

I realize that these routines are a very personalized matter, but instead of simply telling us to use what works best for us, it would be really helpful if we could dedicate a post to different views of the proper stretching technique. Thanks in advance.

Peace

JoeCool,

I’m not going to claim to be an expert, but here is my opinion on your questions:

This is a rough guide I’d say. Your aim is to protect the fragile nerves just below the head. You should do what is most comfortable for you, as simply stretching skin is uncomfortable and futile unless you need it to cover an increased size. Personally, when stretching, the webbing between my thumb and forefinger would be just behind the head.

What’s your LOT? Once you fully understand the LOT theory it becomes obvious which direction to major in. I would cover all bases, especially when you’re starting out and do all the directions, but perhaps focussing on one more than the others. For example, it is typical to start with downward stretching to get any “easy” gains you can out of the ligs before attacking the tunica (stretched using the upper angles, above your LOT).
The key is to concentrate on how the stretches feel, as otherwise you will just be going through the motions. While this will work from some people, others require specific angles and intensity to elongate the necessary tissues.
As for duration, that is again a personal choice. I would typically do 30 second stretch in one direction, and then 30 seconds in another. Then I would do JAI stretches maybe (those are Johan’s AI stretches if you need to search) and maybe a rotary stretch lightly for a while.
I don’t think I can stress enough how important it is for you to pay close attention to how the stretch feels.

Now this is hardly standard advice but I’m ok with the blood in the head, it gives some engorgement and it gives something good to hold on to.

The warnings against this though:

1) If I don’t warmup and then stretch like that damage occurs, i.e. red spots which are harmless enough, but given the need for safety I would definately advise a warmup if your stretching sessions are like that.
2) You should periodically do some dry jelqs to get some fresh blood to the head if your stretching session is going to involve this level of engorgement to the head.
3) Having the head to hold on to gives you incredible power, don’t get carried away and injure yourself.

The break between your stretches depends on the length of the stretch. If you do 2 second stretches (JAI) then a 2 second break is in order. If you hold your stretches for a full minute, then perhaps 20 seconds of massage would be recommended.

For the second question, you should occasionally refresh your penis with fresh blood with some light jelqing.

Ideally, you want to be rid of most blood for stretching for safety’s sake. You don’t want an intense pressure pushing out laterally as you stretch. That would be asking for trouble.

Does any of that help? If not keep asking away, it’s how we all learn and benefit.

Welcome to the forum.

ICM said it best!

Hey JoeCool, I just started stretching two weeks ago. You’ll eventually build up extra skin to give slack and your stretch will be concentrated on the internal structure of your penis. I built up that extra skin with my jelqing routine.

I warm up with a hot soak in a cup of water for 5-10 minutes. I then dry up and squeeze the blood out of the front of my unit as I grab some extra skin to bunch up behind the glans and I concentrate mostly on stretching straight out or at around 8 o’clock.

If you try the 8 o’clock stretch, try squatting with knees apart. You’ll really feel the pull inside your groin. Good luck with that.

Thank you very much for your help.

Can you explain the LOT theory or point me to a proper thread? I’ve tried searching, but nothing associated with this issue came up.

Also, are you supposed to hold a kegal throughout the duration of the stretch?

Well, my LOT seems to be very low. It’s about 7:30. But this doesn’t make much sense because I just started PE this week. From what I’ve read, it will be a lot harder to make gains. I also understand that I should do mostly upward stretches to lengthen my tunica. Am I correct in assuming this?

use Vigrx oil with your stretching exercise :) You will gain really fast within 60 seconds.

However… it will go back the way it was afterward…

JoeCool,

Your LOT may be higher than you think. I diagnosed mine to be a certain value, but then gave an in-depth description of exactly what I was doing and what happened to Bib and he told me it was higher than I thought and explained why.

If you like you could PM me the same in-depth information, i.e. everything: when you lose the tugback altogether (if at all), where the tugback is, (in the head? Or merely flexing at the base?).

Make it as detailled as possible and I’ll give my opinion on it, if you like.
