Tunica & Ligaments

Allways if I read about pe the people talk about tunica and ligs.

I know tunica and ligs are parts of the penis.

I don’t know where they are but the are somewhere.

But what me interessts ist where is the differece between tunica-stretchin,

lig-stretching, tunica-jelqing? and lig-jelqing?.

And which person must do what type of stretching and jelqing?

OK the ligs being talked about are mainly the fundiform and suspensory ligaments. Think of them as attaching the pubic bone to the base of the penis (they kind of wrap around the base) the tunicae are the the containing envelopes for the two CC and CS (the bits that grow bigger when you are erect).

So when people talk of stretching the ligs they are talking about trying to make the penis pull out of the body a little further, and when they are talking about stretching the tunica they are talking about lengthening the actual length of the penis.

Jelqing generally effects the tunica but if you jelq toward the floor you are putting strain on the ligs.

Generally people new to PE have a fair amount to be gained by stretching the ligaments so they should concentrate there. LOT may help inform you better as to whether this is the case for you.

As a PE career progresses, lig gains dry up and people start working on the tunica.

This is simplification to a degree but more can be learned by reading anatomy threads and checking out other anatomy sources on the web. It makes a lot of sense to have a good understanding of the anatomy of the penis.

I have read a bunch of post about the Penis Anatomy, and while reading your post Memento, I had a simple question.

As I understand it, the suspensory ligaments “suspend” the penis from the pelvis, they are attached several places around the penis and attach to the pelvis above the penis. The tunica consists of two cavities or “bags” within the penis. What hold the penis in place besides the suspensory ligaments? I mean, if the ligs were not holding the penis, what would keep the penis from being pulled out of the body? Maybe I haven’t read enough about the ligs, but I was under the impression that they were only on the to of the penis and there are no other ligaments other than those on top.

I found a thread that has good diagrams, but are the ligs that attach on top the only thing holding the penis inside the body other than the skin? or is the tissue that goes behind the testicles attached to something back there?

Gray’s Anatomy probably answers the questions better than I can. Its not very good on the fundiform/suspensory ligaments bit but there is a pic around here somewhere that does that job rather well (I forget where the pic is but I remember anatomy searches tend to bring it up). The fundiform ligs are behind the suspensory ligs.

Well there is the root of the penis which is joined up with a load of fascia to the perineum. Thats the connection you feel is being pulled when you compress the BC muscle.

You can feel the ligaments running down from the pubic bone area and running around the penis. Other than that there are no ligaments in the penis, the things you feel on the top of the shaft running up the penis are arteries veins and the connecting point of the two tunicae covering the CC (the septum). You may also feel the urethra.

Yes you are pulling the whole penis back into the body, when you flex the BC.

Good question. The penis kind of spits into three and joins up with surrounding fascia. I’m sure we pull on this fascia a bit but I would have thought its no easier to stretch that the exposed tunicae, to me it feels stronger if anything in that section but you wander into territory best explored by one of the people on the board with a better understanding of anatomy than me.

From Gray’s Anatomy,

I am no expert in anatomy so I am learning more with each thread I read.

Yup thats basically what I was trying to say but with greater eloquence.

Ok, from further reading about the ligs I noticed that Gray’s states:

“The fundiform ligament springs from the front of the sheath of the Rectus abdominis and the linea alba; it splits into two fasciculi which encircle the root of the penis.”

“The upper fibers of the suspensory ligament pass downward from the lower end of the linea alba, and the lower fibers from the symphysis pubis; together they form a strong fibrous band, which extends to the upper surface of the root, where it blends with the fascial sheath of the organ.”

Do these “bands” that “encirlle the root of the penis” limit the expansion of the penis in girth? Does this explain why we see the “baseball bat” effect?

The anatomy always seems to interest me even though its hard to understand sometimes. Like what is a “fascia”?

Fascia is a general word for connective tissue.

Nope the ligs don’t constrict the girth of the erection.

The bulbospongeous muscle and the ischiocavernosous muscles that connect the interior protion of the penis to to pelvis, are connected to the bone by tendons is that correct? If that is correct, can’t those tendon’s be stretched? Isn’t it these muscles that cause the “pull back” when you are testing your LOT?

Yep, I’m pretty sure the technical term would be a tendon for the connection between the pubic bone and interior penis assembly. Its some sort of connective tissue. It may get stretched. Depends what the weakest link is, I suppose. And yep those are the muscles you use when you kegel.

Whenever I test for LOT while stretching to the sides (right and left) I get different results. Whenever I stretch and kegal to my left I get no tugback at all, at any angle. Whenever I stretch and kegal to my right I get about the same loss of tugback as when I stretch straight out although the distance of the tugback isn’t as far. I have a curve to my left and when I stretch straight out I notice that the ligs are offset slighty to my left. Could this offset in the position of the ligs account for the curve? And wouldn’t I benefit more from stretching to my right than to my left?
