Weak erections when lying on back - can't stay hard

Thanks for the reply, I answered below: I can hold a kegel for at least 20 seconds without faltering. I would say mine is pretty good. I am getting worried though, the more I think about it I have never been able to maintain an erection without any form of manual stimulation for more than about 10 seconds. Being able to switch positions with the same boner is unheard of for me. I can go from one to another but after 10 seconds of moving around I will need to manually stimulate for 5 seconds to regain enough hardness to insert. I always thought this was normal since it never really affected my personal life, I just avoided girl on top. But now I am thinking I have some kind of minor leakage.

Hey Peinjuryfree, have you considered consulting a urologist about your problem? I’m not comfortable trying to diagnose because I have no expertise in anatomy or urology.

Have you ever done PE or did you make this account on this forum because it seemed like a possible place to find an answer? Just wondering if this problem is based in anatomy or something you acquired after an injury (I’m guessing by your username it wasn’t an injury but you know what they say about assumptions)

best of luck

Follow up: I can achieve what I would call my highest possible EQ by holding a reverse kegel and manually stimulating myself. I get veiny and bigger and reach a 10 degrees above parallel angle. However, that is through manual stimulation. If I stop the stimulation but hold the RK (relaxation of pelvic floor muscles) I can maintain that for roughly 10-15 seconds but then it becomes a semi. I have never had EQ that good during sex since last time I was with a girl I didn’t know about RKs. I feel like that is the EQ most people achieve at a 9+ though but I can only get it temporarily, by using the RK. Anyone experienced something similar? Do I have a venous leak/ general outflow problem? I don’t know if doing a strong RK while with a girl is practical since it is the same muscle relaxation that encourages peeing and shitting..

* I PE’d around age 18 for some months without any warm up but never felt any pain or anything. I also have only gotten better EQ through PE, yes it used to be worse than this so I don’t think I’ve injured myself in any way. I never thought I had an issue since I just thought it was normal to have a below parallel erection that moves at the base and is lost quite quickly.

Hmm that last statement that it only improved after PE struck me, I would’ve assumed it would work the other way around. As far as RK’s during the deed, I’ve heard that it can lead to better sexual endurance but it’s recommended you have the exercise down so you’re only activating the necessary muscles… to y’know avoid accidents

As far as your predicament I would still recommend visiting a urologist if you have the means to. If this was a relatively new phenomena I’d say ride it out, but if it’s a lifelong thing you might be able to get some answers from a professional that could help your situation.

Thanks for your many replies velhungvhite! Damn I guess I need to see a urologist. Pretty sad to say but I guess I should. I basically always had that low erection angle as long as I can remember. I thought I was totally normal since the normal stuff happened after PE over time, I got veinier and a bit bigger hard with some PE and got more frequent erections. And my flaccid hang has gotten better. Have experienced some minor setbacks like small pains but taken rest as suggested. Right now, my EQ is the best it has been in my life. I have a warm flaccid hanging lower than it has ever before. I would say my In-flow for blood is fine but I am not sure about my outflow. So basically my story sounds like a normal good PE story, which I thought it was! Except instead of normal to good EQ I went from bad to not as bad EQ.

Has anyone experienced weak erections that were fixed by a strong reverse kegel routine? This is one possibility: I know reverse kegels are relaxation of muscles, but it is possible that if my RKs become “strong” enough, that the more relaxed pelvic floor muscles will better block the blood outflow. This applies to me since I have been a “clencher’ all my life during jerking off. So my RKs were not trained at all until about a month ago when I started exercising them.

Basically I never realized I had an issue with hardness/stiffness because I could still hook up and jerk off with anything above a EQ 6 in my opinion. I just thought this was normal to not be very hard. With girls I would have an EQ of 6-7 with a low erection angle, which would let me insert, and once inserted I would be at an 8 because of the stimulation, but not before.

Maybe my kegel balance IS that far off

Following up: It is possible that consistent RKs will help me block off venous outflow. Anyone experienced this?

I can say for a fact that my strongest RK push causes my strongest erection! I actually understand what a 9 might be like now. If I look at a picture of a hot woman and hold a reverse kegel, I get better veins and my glans grows shiny-ish - indicating good blood flow and inflation. I never even saw what that looked like on myself without RKs, I have never seen that before the last month! I think it is possible that a kegel IMBALANCE can cause venous-leak-like symptoms. I have said I clenched my kegels my whole life during hook ups and masturbation. I also sometimes had Prematurity issues which are related to a tight pelvic floor. I believe if I kick my ass with RKs I may see significant improvement.

Basically picture a vein that needs to be blocked to allow the blood to build up for an erection. I believe constantly contracting my pelvic floor/kegel muscles have caused my muscles to, in a way, move off that vein. And if I have strong kegels but weak relaxation, the muscle will never block the vein. I think if I practice relaxing my pelvic floor muscles, over time they will come to neutrally rest closer to the vein, even without me consciously relaxing them, allowing me better to maintain blood inside the erection. Hoping this is the main issue!

Ironically I’m the opposite my strongest erections are when I’m on my back.

I relate it partially to fatigue. After a rest day or 2, it’s better. But, still not 100%. I blame it on becoming used to blood pumping into unit while doing PE setting down and when I lay on my back, I tell myself it’s harder for the needed blood to pump in.

Starting 10/09/17: BPEL 7” & MSEG 4.75”

Current 12/18/17: 7 1/2" BPEL & 5" MSEG

Goal: BPEL 9” & MSEG 6”

Definitely the reverse kegels.. also it is more passive, mentally, masturbating on your back. Less “eating your prey” mentality and more “being lavished.” Do RKs all day, try slowing down a lot.

I should make that last sentence my signature for people with EQ problems.

I never understood how this was possible lol. At least standing/sitting up it makes sense for me that the heart doesnt have to pump against gravity, but I don’t get how blood flow could be better on your back. Althought, it may be related to some differences between guys in how easy it is to block the venous outflow. Maybe some guys have kegel muscles positioned a bit differently so lying on your back helps you relax them when you do an RK which helps block outflow to stay hard, while others have kegel muscles which relax better standing/sitting.

For example, did you always lay on your back to masturbate or no? I never have.. I can do standing or sitting fine though.

Interesting. Did you ever have weak EQ due to over-tight PF muscles? I’m gonna do a lot of RKs and take a rest from PE for a solid month besides some RKs and Ks. I want to change 1 thing at a time and see how it helps so I am guessing less. Really not interested in damaging my sexual health more, since it might be a bit damaged now but hopefully not.

I get this problem lately

Yes this everything he said…. if you dont cum for a week it is much better.

Another big issue is what are you doing for PE e.g high pressure pumping or clamping can make this a problem but it could be something else… some jelqs usually help or are better

One other thing…try eating a few more steaks or red meat it helps a little bit

PLEASE explain your routine or habits :)

I had this exact same issue in my twenties, and that was way before I ever thought about PE. You are not alone, and I doubt it has anything to do with PE. Porn could be an issue, but probably only for a small part of that if you aren’t seeing other EQ issues.

If you do suspect porn, give it more than a week of detox before evaluating. It took me over a month to see a benefit there, and even then there might have been some placebo kicking in. But I’ve been rewiring my brain for a few decades now. I blame the magazines my dad let me pull out of the dumpster when I was 13.
