What are exactly is 3M microfoam and micropore?

I see these tapes recommended a lot for vac hanging/extending, but what are they exactly? As far as I understand the micropore is just normal paper tape you tape bandages and such to skin, and the microfoam is something softer I guess? The cheapest 3m microfoam I found was 20 euro for a roll. Seems awfully expensive. Are there any alternatives for these?

$20 EU for a roll? How long was that roll? I don’t know the current exchange rate, but $9 USD in the US is not bad for 120yds. That’s allot of tape.

For our purposes: It’s basically used as a tape that will mimick and protect skin and tissue in a vacuum. It transfers the vacuum force to an adhesion force on whatever surface you place it, in this case the glans. These types of tape are used because of how soft they are, and they respond well and hold to vacuum even when deformed.

Yea that was for the microfoam roll though on amazon, it was only 5 meters.
I did some more searching and I found some local stores that sell them for cheaper, marketed for eyelash extensions.

I’m not even sure if I need both microfoam and micropore, but I thought its better to be prepared when my vac extender arrives.

5 meters for $20EU? That is expensive as hell. 5 meters is ~5.5 yds.

Micropore is more or less standard, as far as I know. The names seem to be interchanged frequently, but I believe micropore to be the intent.

3M’s web site says "3M™ Micropore™ S Surgical Tape is 3M’s recommended product in the Multi-purpose Securement Class, appropriate for clinical jobs such as, blood draws, lightweight dressing, secondary securement of IV lines, and non-critical tubes."

If that’s the same stuff my wife has had on IV lines and surgical drains, yes, you can peel it off and put it back, at least a few times. It’s very thin, almost translucent, and looks like paper tape.

3M likely isn’t the only manufacturer of such a thing. I would be surprised if there wasn’t some equivalent available in the EU.

I did some more searching and I was able to find both micropore and microfoam on this website that sells stuff for eyelash extensions and related stuff. I guess these tapes are also used in those areas. Here the price for the same roll is 7.9 euros. Still seems a bit expensive but its the cheapest I could find.

They were hard to find because the product names didn’t say micropore/microfoam but were translated into my local language. It’s only thanks to the product picture I could identify them.

A product should translate as a product when in term. “Looks like” and “like” are two different things. There’s allot that looks like it, that simply isn’t. Put “micropore” with the quotes into your search.

If I went to a pharmacy here in the US, I wouldn’t find micropore tape in the makeup aisle. It would be in the bandage aisle.

That amazon link you posted was for micropore, witch would be around 20 euros with shipping.

Has nothing to do with believing you. I believe you just fine. I don’t think you’re looking in the right place. The makeup version that site has is way too narrow. Again, it’s not a makeup item, it’s a bandage, in size and application.

On the link you provided, $1.40EU for 9.14m is better, but it’s narrow. You’ll want 2.5cm or so, not 1.25cm. I don’t see micropore/viskóza material offered there in that width. They have microfoam in 2.5cm and is listed as such, but it’s not the same. You don’t need 2.5cm/1” but it would be way easier for you to fully tape and you would use less.

Since I’m not where you are, I can’t see prices and shipping. I tried to help, but I’m sorry. Maybe someone closer to you can share what they’re using and where it’s from. There’s a difference between micropore and microfoam, I would not use microfoam.

I’ve tried using both tapes, micropore & microfoam. The Micropore tape is stiff & hard to use; Microfoam is more moldable & works better over the tip of the penis. I recommend Micro Foam!

Well I got both of them now so I will be prepared when my extender arrives.

BTW as I suspected micropore is just “normal” paper tape used in medicine for bandages, I suspected this was the case, but on this forum everyone was talking about 3M Micropore witch gave the impression that it was some specific tape.
