Trouble Removing 3M Micropore Tape Off Glans

Hey guys,
So today I just started to use a vacuum cup with silicone sleeve for ADS with knee trapping after hanging. I must say this method is very comfortable and more stealth than others that I tried such as CC, extender, golf rings. And to prevent blisters on the glans, I wrapped it with 3M Micropore tape. After 3 hours of vacuum stretching in afternoon, I slowly removed the tape by first moistening the glans with some water. It came off clean with no issue. However this evening, I started another vacuum session for one hour and had trouble to remove the tape. It took me 3 times as long as this afternoon, and the tape left a very thin very sticky layer on my glans. I then spent the next 30 minutes trying to remove the sticky residue layer with liquid soap!!

Why did the tape stick too well this evening? It was the same roll. Is there a better way to remove the tape beside using water?
Can I use something else to cover glans to prevent blisters beside 3M tape?

I can’t say for sure what happened. Maybe, you had the tape on too long, or maybe there was too much moisture on the glans. I don’t know.

For me, I always jump in the shower right after and use soap to get mine off. So far I have never had any problems.

The first piece I put on I fold over a small section to create a pull tab. It’s at the coronal ridge and the other pieces go over it.

The evening session was only 1 hour so it was much shorter than the 3 hours I had it on in the afternoon that I didn’t have trouble taking it off. Upon reflection, I put the tape on right after taking a shower in the evening so maybe the shampoo cleaned my unit too well that makes the tape becoming super sticky? I’ll may try soaking the head in liquid soap next time prior peeling it off. Thanks.

I’m thinking I can dust the glans with some baby powder or cornstarch before putting the tape on…

Hey, Wayne — I had the same trouble with 3M MicroPORE tape, but found that 3M’s MicroFOAM tape sticks well & also removes easily. It also conforms to rounded surfaces better. Give it a try.

I had to do an online order and have tried it out. What a game changer! I can even re use the same wrap few times for a whole day without having to do major re wrap when I need to take a leak.
