Where to buy cable clamps

In the store I went to they were with all the ancilliary electrical stuff, like cable connectors and cable ties. I couldn’t find them to start with and asked an assistant. They didn’t have a clue. When I found them, I showed her where they were and she said she’d never noticed them before. They were high up and covered in dust; obviously not a popular item. I had to get a pack with 2 small, 1 med, 1 large for £3.95.

The assistant said next time someone asks for them they’d better ask for the ‘hundcuff things’ and she’d know what they were on about!

Thanks. I went there yesterday. And I looked, but not in the electricals, even asked an assistant and they said that they didnt have. I’ll try again maybe tomorrow.

Can you find cable clamps in Europe?

What about some kind of alternative to it? I mean, in the end, any device that restricts blood flow would do the job, whether it be a lace or something else, right?

I still use a hose clamp much of the time. They are more time consuming to get on and off than a cable clamp, but they are infinitely adjustable when you are getting to the high pressures. You just need good wrap with them.

If you go onto B&Q’s website, you can check if your local store carries them in stock. The system isn’t always reliable, but I don’t think it’s an item they are likely to run out of!

I’m having the same problem. I’m in California and can’t seem to find them anywhere. The nearest Wal-Mart is about an hour’s drive away, so I was hoping to find them someplace nearer. I called Home Depot, no luck, the guy said the didn’t have them; on the other hand, he didn’t seem like he knew what he was talking about, so it might be worth checking in person. Checked Ace Hardware, all they had were zip ties. OSH, a home and garden store, didn’t have anything either.

I’m surprised; they actually seem like a legitimately useful product, I mean, for things besides PE.

Anyone had any luck finding them in CA?

Planet Waves cable clamps On Ebay, they’re made by a guitar string company-same exact thing, you could probably find them on Musiciansfriend.com too.

The best part is. They’re all black. Now you can clamp in style!

I bought the PlanetWaves version as well (just repackaging, nothing else) from here: The Home of Guitar Strings!

They deliver everywhere, but possibly you can buy some from your local music shop as well.
Came with 3 small and one medium unit.

BTW. I used small ones for their original purpose - they are pretty good at that.
