Why not jelq with soap

I’ve noticed that on the main page it says not to jelq with soap, only vaseline, baby oil, etc. I’ve been using soap the last 2-3 weeks and it lubricates really well, so I’m wondering why it’s not recommended.

After a while, the soap can become quite dry & abrasive (especially if the water in it has dried up from the friction) & in turn, can damage the skin surrounding your cock. If you’re wet jelqing, best to stick with what this site recommends.

Soap , in and of itself , tends to dry out skin .

Oils tend to lubricate .

Our aim is mostly to expand , and stretch .

Avoid things that dry out , and hence contract .

Gravitate towards things that lubricate , and tend to loosen and expand .

The main reason not to jelq with soap is because it causes some men’s penises to be come inflamed and start to burn. Especially if you are uncut. Or maybe that was just my experience.

When I started jelqing, I used soap for the first 4 weeks or so. I started to develop a “turkey neck” I think it is called. Once I switched to vaseline, the problem ceased.

Hair conditioner works pretty good.

Have you ever gotten soap inside the urethra and then urinated? Man that kills. For me, this is the main reason not to use soap!

It dries out the skin, causing a nasty flaking of the penis if you’re unlucky, or just irritation if you’re lucky.

Would you wash your hands with soap for a half an hour plus? Didn’t think so.

Exactly. Plus, as others have said, soap is abrasive and drys out the skin.

This is the reason I never use soap.
