Workout Routines for you guys

12

… I’m working on posting my routine and records to you as a file so you can see how I used your information and applied it to what I had but it appears it’s both wasting time and out of context. If you are an eager beaver you can PM me and I’ll give you a link to a download.

2. Everything is on one sheet, that can be good as it’s hard for people to understand the concept of sheets. On the other hand it makes for one really really large sheet.
3. Spelling: Netural is spelled Neutral. Janurary is January. Feburary is February. Stetch is Stretch.
4. Some months have 31 days.
5. There seem to be two places of measurement, one indicating how close/far you are away from the goal and another as just a place to measure. Maybe just having a goal to enter and how far you are away from it would suffice. I don’t see a need to track how far I am away from something as a historical reference but that could be just me.
6. It would be nice to have things calculate themselves a bit more automatically.
7. I’m an ass when it comes to spreadsheets and enjoy ripping them apart.. So try not to take this personally.

Enjoy.

Do rip mine apart if you can.
(By “if you can” I mean if you have OpenOffice, which is a free download)

Thanks for pointing out the errors, my spell check must be out dated or something, because I used spell check. So thank you for the corrections! And I expect nothing less than anybody ripping my spreadsheet apart, and letting me know whats wrong with it. I want that so I know how to make it better. And I’m trying to make it more simple, but that’s going to take some time. For now it’s usable.

If you haven’t already do so, save your documents in a .Zip Folder like I’ve done. Best way to get one is to just download mine, take my contents out and fill with yours. Now you ready. And rename if desired.

Pequipped Spreadsheet v0.0.2

I did all that.. putting it into a zip file and uploading it… there was just a misunderstanding about content.

Here it is, remember that you’ll need OpenOffice to view and edit this document. I also hear Microsoft Office 2007 service pack 2 will have support for the OpenDocument Format.

Is it just me or was my attachment denied again? If I come back later this evening to find it’s not here I’ll PM you directly if you don’t mind 2Big4u

I’m curious if this is setting off someone’s virus scanner. I know for when I open the xls document in Microsoft Office 2007 it suggests that my spreadsheet contains macro’s and that macro’s might be malicious. I assure you that this file is not malicious.

I invested quite a bit of time into this.

Holy shit. I can defiantly tell you’ve been working on this for awhile. I think it could be simplified a lot. But, that doesn’t mean what you got in incredible. I’ll look at it with a more simpler aspect and tweak it around some, see if you like it. Maybe integrate some things into it. I’ll get to work.

This is just my opinion. I would recommend making 1 or 2 maybe 3 sheets to post through. Having 5+ sheets to go through would get irradiating, and as a first impression, too see all the sheets and blank boxes that need to be filled would overwhelm me. Especially since it’s only a log. For most people it’s only going to be used for Logging measurements and routines performed on that day, just so they can keep track. Most people want it simple and easy. To see something as simple as making a daily log to be that complicated wouldn’t attract as many people as you were wanting. Best keep something such as logging as simple as possible. As for the statistics, calc intensity, cacl frequency. It would be a little to advance for just Logging Records. You could leave those, separate for a more Advance Log. Maybe keep the simple stuff completely separate from the confusing stuff.

Your Log might seem great, but take a look at it. Would you want to work with your log? Try this on the side. It works. Tell your self you can’t have more that three sheets, how are you going to be able to summarize all this to fit into only 3 sheets? Your going to have to remove some things. They may or may not be necessary, but you gotta remember you only have 3 sheets to work with.

This will make you realise whats necessary and whats not, and it will help you think of better ways to keep it simple. Because that’s what people want. Simple simple. :)

Other than that. I see your Routine working well, better than mine, but I only see that if it gets simpler. It does look good, just too complicated.

I have a revised spreadsheet up (see my signature) and have segregated it so that if you only want to use the logs it will immediately reflect on the summary page or if you only want to use the routine section it will.. there are a total of 2 sheets to change (logs) with only a few things to fill out that are much more clearly marked.

Thanks for the comments though. Always trying to simplify things really. Just difficult to ‘hide’ based on a users choice in spreadsheets.

Segregation happens… and we’re going to wind up confused if things aren’t sorted early.

Any further discussions about my spreadsheet I’d like to start delegating here:
