440's and Clamping - Differences?

440's and Clamping - Differences?

I have some thoughts and questions on the technical and TUT (Time Under Tension) differences between these two techniques. Now personally, I’m not conditioned or experienced enough to work either of these into my routine being a noob at this, but I’m still curious and experimenting.

With the 440, I understand to use my hand to clamp off a full erection at the base of the penis, kegel in blood and tighten, then use my other hand to form a tight “OK” with the fingers and slide it over the head. I have tried this and it’s very difficult, as the penis feels as though it is being forced into the base and it causes a lot of discomfort, almost like it wants to give way to one side or the other at times as well. I found that by lightly collapsing fingers over the head in a cascading fashion and applying pressure, I’m able to force the blood into the shaft with more control and I’m also able to hold this for quite some time. I have very strong hands, and good endurance with them as well. I can actually hold a 440 for up to 5 minutes.

Now for my questions on comparison to clamping. So how does this differ from clamping except for TUT? Would some consider the 440 a safer route to go for girth for purposes of control, even though more blood is being forced into the shaft with the 440? Why do some claim exceptional gains with clamping which basically holds a fixed amount of blood in the penis as opposed to 440’s with force more blood into the shaft. I ask this last question because I haven’t read that many squeeze their glans during clamping. I guess I’m wondering if clamping is just another way to force blood into the penis with the assistance of a tool which makes me believe that any/all of these blood forcing exercises really just amount to TUT.

Anyways, these of course are my thoughts on things I don’t know as much about…Oh yeah, and TUT is a bodybuilding term, I just thought I’d add it into this context since is appears to be applicable. Hope you don’t mind the addition of this acronym.

For clamping you’d use a clamp around the base of your penis and tighten in to trap blood. A 440 is a step higher than clamping and it is a pretty big jump. It’s kind of like an add on to clamping but it is for advanced PEers and is dangerous. The way you do a 440 is fine as well (although its much too early for you to do it at all right now), and it’s how I did it when I just started the 440s.

Both are great for girth (in my opinion) but I think the 440 is better. The 440 however, is much shorter ( I usually hold for 10 seconds a rep) time frame, while clamping is much longer (I usually stay clamped for 10 minutes at a time for 2 reps). Since the 440 delivers great pressure over such a short time I guess you can count it as being “explosive training” which is why newbies or even post newbies shouldn’t touch it. Clamping gives gives a bit more control since it’s less pressure and is more gradual which would categorize it under “endurance training”( note: less pressure still means a lot of pressure and is still advanced for newbs).

The reason you hear more people talking about clamping as opposed to 440s is because clamping has been around longer and is much more common. Also since it’s safer more people would use it and recommend it, while 440s always come with major warning signs.
