A $.02 Ball Zinger

Just explain it as this trick to place a strip of this metal to “tune”/”enhance” your musical instruments from some site on the internet. You are the musician, not me. It would sound more convincing from you than me. You have to put a wee bit of effort in any scheme, it just doesn’t line up for you right out of the box you know.;)

A tip if you’re using the velcro band: stick the rough velcro on the pennies before sanding them. This gives your finger a good purchase and prevents it from accidentally getting sanded. Much easier. :)

Someone asked about current. I checked twice about an hour apart.

#1: .81v and .047 mA
#2: .76v and .038 mA

I thought about it, and I’m going to test this out. So you use sandpaper to strip the copper off of the new penny (assuming you don’t have a Bunsen burner)? I tried steel wool for like half an hour and couldn’t get it to work. Meybe just some more work is what I need? Because I think steel wool would work better…but maybe not? We’ll see. At any rate, I’ll give this a try.

Yeah, sandpaper is the way to go. If in a pinch you could sand it on some concrete, such as a curb. Spit on the concrete and rub the penny back and forth or in circles. You only have to bare one side.

Don’t try to burn the copper plating off. If you get it hot enough it will mix with the underlying zinc and create brass.

Nothing yet. I have occasionally felt an extremely mild electric tingle on my nuts, which surprised me. Others have reported the same, but I suspected it was imagination. It is the same zinging sensation that a TENS unit produces, except barely perceptible.

What a brilliant idea! Only a truly cheapskates could think of such a thing. A $0.02 zinger is great to get everyone wearing one. Now there is no excuse for anyone NOT to wear one. I just need to get the feedback and the reactions to the zinger on a long time basis.

Hobby, I will like you to join my design team… I want to build the perfect zinger for the masses ( like Henry Ford ). I am in Canada, and although I could run across the border and hoard some real US pennies, I wonder if Canadian pennies will also follow the same formula. Given that the Canadian dollar is about 25% less than the US dollar, my new improved zinger will cost only $0.015 !!!!!!! so I can claim an even cheaper ballzinger…LOL

This totally isn’t my field of knowledge, but would soda like Pepsi, Coke, Or Dr Pepper be caustic enough to clean the penny via a chemical reaction? If so could you just get a glass/cup/whatever and throw the penny in overnight and let god old American capatlism and chemistry do the work for you? Just farting out ideas.

Twat, don’t waste Coke on pennies. Drink it while you grind them on the curb.

I sanded mine down to a flat surface. You don’t have to go that far, but you do have to get through the plating so at least a good portion of the zinc is exposed.

Wait a minute! Twat has a point here. This is what I found:

1- The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.

2- You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days

3- To clean a toilet pour Coke into the bowl and let sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

4-In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident

5- The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years.

So, a Coke bath may indeed clean that lonely penny, and can still drink it afterwards…

Great detective work Hobby. From what I have read about ballzingers on this site, some people say they work and some say they get nothing from it. I guess we’re just going on faith at this point right? Anyone have any theories on how these ball zingers might increase load and spurts? With Hobby’s new invention there may be a fair number of members that are going to jump on this ball-zinger bandwagon. Now might be a good time to do a little study. :) Its pretty easy to count your spurts before and after steady use of the penny zinger. I would say try to wear it during the day every day for at least a week. Maybe people with experience could chime in with how long before effects are noticed.

Tube, I haven’t counted spurts but before making my zinger I recorded my flaccid length at various times for several days and came up with an average. I’ll do it again after some time with the zinger.

Hey Tube, this is what I have been trying to do for some time. I wanted to do a little study, more like research project, with all the forum members that are using the zinger, on its long term effects. We all know the short term effect is very noticeable with days, but I haven’t heard from the vets that have been wearing it for, say a year or two.

The best results I achieved was by wearing it at night, and taking a break during the day. I think I read somewhere that spermatogenesis may be more active at night than during the day. Maybe because the body is not as busy using up the test on male daily stuff.

Anyone want to do some serious research work over here?
