Affiliate program

Hey guys,
Because we have keep this place fairly clean (although if you haven’t noticed a lot more of the individual forums have become members only), I managed to get the place looked over and accepted into an affiliate program for Drugstore.com. Now just exactly what is ol’ Thunder up to, you ask, well the affiliate program pays commission on sales. We take the commission and use it to keep this place up and maybe even improve it a little. No, I don’t want to paste adds all over the place. I figure maybe two or three adds in the footer, out of the way won’t be too bad.
Check the one there now, is it ok? Let me know. And to keep Thunder on the mainland and away from the Jamaican babes, I’ll let any moderator that wants to, have access to the account username and password for an audit. If fact, I’ll even ask someone to do this for me once and a while.

Other stuff, Drugstore.com is a (maybe the only, in the near future) online GNC store. A lot of us buy GNC products on the web, so if we use the link below (there will be a seperate link for GNC soon), the kitty will get 10% of your purchase. It comes out of GNC’s pocket then, not ours.

Or am I totally full of shit here and there is something I don’t see? Feedback please?

From January 1 through March 31, 2002, we will pay a 10% marketing fee on all
nonprescription purchases made by customers that come to us through your site!
Not only that, but for a limited time only we will also pay you a bonus for
every new customer that you introduce to drugstore.com. As an incentive you’ll
earn $3 for each new customer that purchases through a valid drugstore.com link
on your web site. Remember this new customer bonus is in addition to the 10%
sales fee you earn! This special incentive program runs through March 31, 2002.”

This thing could work. I think we have to remember to actually log on to the site by using the button below. If we log on directly we lose out. :(

I have requests out to two other companies that are online Lube retailers. I am hoping one of them replies. Both have all the brand name lubes at pretty good prices (except maybe Bag Balm). I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Now if I could just figure out how to make the footer look presentable again…. Also, the GNC link goes to the Drugstore.com site, I’ll look for a direct link to replace it, if there is one.

I will certainly use it too. I enjoy ordering online and if the stuff mentioned is a single click away the better. Count me in! This place has to stay open for everyone’s sake! Do what has to be done. I know you will not have a billion ads popping up for those cameras or porn so I am happy! Thanks

The links are great, not too intrusive. Thunder, it’s not up to me, but links to drugstores etc rather than porn links add to the site’s integrity and credibiliy. I think you’ve moved in the right direction.

If you know of any company that may make a good link here, let me know and I’ll check them out. I really wanted a online lube company with a good selection and pricing, but I have not heard back from the two that I contacted.

I gave up on the lube companies and went searching again. Came up with an outfit called Safesense.com. Seems like a pretty good company. Looks like condoms are their major product (we use them, don’t we?), but they have a large selection of lubes also. And some other sex toy stuff as well. I just have a text link for now, but have asked for some banner/button code from them. No pop-ups Dino. :D 10% on all sales when you USE the link at the bottom of the page.

I also found the catch with Drugstore.com. Anything less than a 100.00 total commission per quarter is paid in credits good for products, not cash. Not what I had in mind, if it doesn’t work out, then we can replace it with something else.

Any and all input wanted. If you have a chance, check these places out and give me your thoughts. Thanks guys!

With Drugstore (until you can find an alternative) if you get product credits then award them to the “Best post of the Month” or something silly like that.

I looked at the bottom here and I like the way it looks and certainly does not bother anyone.

That is a good idea. Let’s hope the total makes into the “cash” area, but if not we can do as you suggested, and do a contest or vote for a best post or something.

Will some of you guys try the links below and let me know they are working for you? Also, if you have time, check some of the pages other than the front pages of the sites. All of these links have traffic counters on them (no, we don’t get any money for click throughs :( ), and I want to confirm that they are working. The counters do not register my visits at all and I want to make sure that they register members visits. Thanks !!!!!

Thunder, have you checked out a company called Commission Junction? They’re pretty big … just a thought.
