mmac,
Do a few searches for ‘traction wrap’, this is what you are doing. I think it has great merit.
tim,
>I occasionally wrap to avoid retraction after a workout. I figure it might help to keep my flaccid state as extended as possible during recooperation and rebuilding so that it can rebuild in a longer state.<
That is the plan, I feel it is important to stay in the extended state for as long as possible.
>I will wrap overnight while sleeping or all day on weekends. My flaccid state is definately longer when I unwrap but it is temporary. Its hard to say what contributes most to any flaccid gains, but post-workout wrapping certainly can’t hurt.<
The reason the flaccid state is temporary is that traction wrapping does not place any stress on the penis, it only keeps the elastic fibers extended, and keeps the plastic fibers in the extended state caused by the workout. It is for this reason that traction wraps are useless unless done right after a stretching or hanging session.
Some other methods of ADS, such as the theraband method (check the tutorials forum) will place stress on the fibers, and this method would be more beneficial. The advantages of traction wrapping over ADS are it is easier to put on and keep on while allowing perfect circualtion, and you can piss with it on, so sometimes you can wear it all day, to work or whatever.
If you wear it overnight, the material used MUST be elastic, because of nocturnal erections. Before you go to bed, get an erection with the wrap on, and let it subside to see what happens. Remember this will happen several times during the night. It is not recomended.
