breaking clamps
Lately, I’ve been breaking clamps a lot more than usual. My first year of clamping I never broke a clamp while clamping, but a clamp did break dropping it on some tile floor…it was ready to break however.
I can only get around 30 to 40 sessions out of cable clamp these days, which translates into a little over a month of clamping.
Question…do any guys realize more clamp breaks as they got larger, and do you think a clamp giving in as a sign of doing something right, etc.?
Also, it is the lever or “pressure adjuster,” whatever that thing is called that breaks usually. However, the last clamp that broke, broke in two places…the lever and the actual part of the clamp that locks in with the “teeth.” It made me feel kinda good to break it in two places. Sorta manly, if you know what I mean.
So the big question: is breaking a clamp an positive indicator?
