Broken clamp?

Broken clamp?

I’ve been clamping for just over three years now, with decent success. I had been using the same cable clamp all along when one day during a clamped bend - something I do against my curve - I hear a *POP* that scares the shit out of me. After the half-second of panic and the realization that there is no associated pain, I realize the cable clamp slipped one ratchet. After a couple of more clamping days like this and the same *POP* sound the clamp finally breaks for good. The retention clip broke off and the clamp is done..

Clearly the early *pops* were an indication of the impending failure of the clamp. I just had never heard of a clamp failing this way during PE. Anyone else experience this? For the record, I went right out and purchased a new clamp and I’m right back at it! :)

MushroomHook,

How much have you gained over your three year clamping expedition?

I started with a significant baseball bat shape, and a very large glans: 6” EG glans, 5.25” EG at the thickest, and 4.75” at the base. This narrow location at the base is also where my unit takes a left bend. I found that my expansion and gains are not universal - mainly that this bend location seems do to less expansion on the left side. This is why I concentrate there. If I didn’t my bend just gets worse with gains as the rest of the unit grows faster than this tight spot.

So, today, glans is just over 6”, EG at the thickest is 5.5”, and this tight spot is 5.25”. I should also note that the tight spot (bend location) has moved up the shaft as I’ve gained length from the base. This has made bending against the curve much easier to execute. BPEL is just tickling 8” now. Yeah, I’m very happy with my gains and my current unit. Most of my work now is focused on girth at the tight spot as well as overall girth, with stretches/jelques thrown in for warm-up and maintenance.

Which brings up another question - midshaft clamping? Since clamping gains seem to come most directly under the clamped, I was considering adding a second clamp right at the tight spot for a set or two. Thoughts?

How much length was gained?

I’ve busted 2 clamps and have only been clamping off and on for 14 months. Mine broke at the hook that engages the teeth

Started BPEL was 6” with a ruler, but 6.25” if I followed the curve. Today’s ~8” BPEL is with a ruler.

All of it from clamping? Sounds like about what stumpy did…

No, not all from clamping. I began stretching based on my own beliefs (before ever reading anything about PE) over 15 years ago. I did this along with hand-clamped edging. I gained quite a bit of length from this, as well as some additional MSEG, but it may have only increased my baseball bat shape. Then three years ago I found TP, and added jelquing and clamping.

It seems that Cableclamps can break quite frequently. I remember a fairly recent thread talking about that. I have not found it, but here’s another one that confirms it.

My last Cable Clamp

Thanks Graal! I did some searching but didn’t find that thread. The sound sure scared the crap out of me. It was much louder than just a lig pop. :p

I hope this never happens to me, I only have 3 cable clamps and I have not been able to find them in the local Wal-Marts for awhile. Also if I heard a loud noise and felt a pop in my penis while clamping, I may feint from fear. lol

No doubt! I was on the road when it finally gave out and was able to find a new one a Home Depot the same day.

Are you guys all clamping at the base, or is there different clamping orientations which yield different results?

Oh man I broke my first cable clamp this Sunday. Though I had no warning pops like you did, it just snapped the retention bracket off. Good news is when I bought it I bought three expecting them to break a bit more regularly than this. I wasn’t scared when it happened, knew exactly what it was, I was more impressed than anything.

I clamp fully erect and kegel the whole time. It was during a kegel that it snapped.

Also I clamp behind the balls. This is highly discouraged but I have had no issues with it and only good results. I don’t suggest you try it though.

My name is sarcastic.
